We loved our experience last night. Everything was great. The one thing I have to nitpick on is the fact that they don't have a chlorine filter on the soda dispenser. I ordered club soda, and it tasted like a pool. I am hoping that more restaurants in northwest Arkansas start to change that.

Nothing but the Best!

Service was very tentative and made one feel as though you mattered

Sushi was as fresh as I have ever eaten and soft shell crab was my wife’s favorite

Good food! The seating is very tight. Service was great. We had water to drink and it was served room temperature, no ice. The fish was fresh and we enjoyed a quick tasty dinner.

We had a wonderful date night at AOI Sushi. I highly recommend requesting Ayla as a server, she steered us right and read our taste and pace with expertise. Some folks come to a place like this and order one thing; that’s just not the way to enjoy a dining experience like AOI. Sushi, IMO is enjoyed best ordered in paired courses. Figure out what you like together and ask the server, if they’re like Ayla, what’s best to enjoy side by side. I don’t want to tell you how to enjoy yourself but ordering in 2’s and 3 things at once is what makes a fantastic sushi experience. Highly recommended AOI, it does have tight seating at the moment, so plan accordingly.

Idk why they have 4.2 starts because this place deserves more than that. The food is so good, and the staff is so friendly.

Have been twice before and loved it so thought I’d bring my family while they were in town.
Previously I’d gotten the chefs special and loved it - and I swear they’d asked me (or maybe I just told them) what my likes and dislikes were. The two times I got it, I loved it. I really hyped it up to my sister who wanted to try it - when she tried to tell the server (Kirsten?) what she didn’t like, we were told that it’s the chef’s choice and he would not be taking any of our preferences into consideration unless you really hated a certain ingredient. She said okay… let’s try it anyways because I’ve loved it in the past. Only request is NO cream cheese. They sent us a deep fried roll with Alfredo sauce and goat cheese on it. I didn’t realize goat cheese was even an option at a sushi restaurant otherwise I would have said absolutely NO CHEESE but here we are. It was awful - everyone tried a piece and collectively said it was disgusting.
Additionally, they only serve lukewarm water here. When we asked for ice we got two glasses of ice for a table of three and no refills despite it not being enough lol.
Finally, the atmosphere - while cozy - is extremely loud. My sister had to get up and leave while I waited for the check because it gave her a migraine. I understand many smaller venues will have this issue but a few textiles would go a long way in preventing the excessive echo.

Ultimately, it was fine. But between the poor ambience and service, plus the inconsistent quality in food, I can’t justify the cost. My visit before this was better but was accompanied by neon-colored cocktails that tasted like chemicals. I really wanted to like this place because I miss having a good sushi restaurant but honestly was pretty embarrassed to have brought my family here after I talked it up so much. I’ll probably come here if it’s in a group but I don’t see myself returning of my own volition. It’s just okay food at steakhouse prices.

The raw Hamachi was divine! Both the Hamachi, and Salmon belly just melted in your mouth. It was a sweet savory buttery sensation!

We got edamame, soft shell crabs and honey wasabi scallops for appetizers, all delicious and well made. Got a selection of rolls including wicked tuna, aoi love, lobster paradise, mt fuji, rainforest and flaming blu- well- balanced and delicious as well! Perfect date-night spot or for getting together with friends/family. Definitely recommend!

Beware for food poisoning

I'll spare the gorey details, but my wife and I shared 3 plates and got ill at the same time a couple of hours after eating dinner at Aoi, leaving us tethered to the bathrooms for the evening.

We hadn't eaten any other food together in the 48 hours leading up to our meal at Aoi, so it was pretty clear that this was the culprit.

What a great experience. Stumbled across this restaurant and decided to stop for dinner. The sushi, nachos, ramen and drinks were all top notch. Our bartender was very friendly. Letting us stay slightly past closing to conversate with staff.
