Dinner for two on a Thursday night. Service was very good and became great as the manager helped fill in when things were a bit busy. (Nice work Erin/server and Dan/manager.). The food was excellent.....we just wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this restaurant on a regular basis!
The Hive is a terrific spot. Luna is a fantastic waitress. She's taken care of us on multiple occasions and we always request her. Great vibe and service!
Hive used to be really good. Now they are not worth the money. The menu options aren't vast and they are really slow... expect 45-60 minutes before food arrives.
We ate here on NYE & it was just awful from start to finish. The set menu was probably created so that the food could be served as fast as possible; starting with a single oyster the size of a dime that was served to us before our cocktails were brought to the table. From there we were rushed through our over salted $300 meal so fast that our waitress Luna (who only showed up at our table one time all night to fill our water glasses & deliver our bill) was able to rush off to be with her boyfriend before midnight as she giddily told us was her goal. What I expected: a nice leisurely New Year's Eve dinner in a hip hotel restaurant. What I got: an overpriced, over salted, rush job dinner served by lazy waitstaff. Would not recommend!
The food here was EXCELLENT. Everything was prepared with great care, and the presentation was first rate. There were a few small issues, though. The got our appetizer wrong (to be fair, what we did get was DELICIOUS). Then it took a rather long time to get our orders plated and on the table--we were told the "ticket got lost". However, at the end of the night we were give discounts for the issues. So, all in all a good, if not perfect experience!
The salmon entree was delicious. We also enjoyed the appetizer of mushrooms and polenta. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, and enjoyed the service and ambience.
We were there, celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and our food server was incredible!! Also, we believe it was the manager who came by and wished us a happy anniversary along with other staff. They were extremely kind and made our night very special.
Ate breakfast here a few years back and it was very mediocre. Had a friend in town and since the ambiance is good, thought I'd try it again for dinner. Waited an hotline for our entree to find out sever forgot to enter. When our food came out, my burger was rare when I asked for MW, sent back, they gave me the same cut burger just a little more dine, couldn't finish. The Cotton Candy with our bill was a nice touch, but completely overpriced, and, yet again, mediocre at best.
This was our third dining experience at The Hive during our stay. Each meal was uniquely memorable. What truly stands out is The Hive's conviviality. The atmosphere, the servers and the food all embody Southern hospitality.
The food and service were outstanding at the Hive. Our server was fun and informative. The modern design of the restaurant space was a little cold, but the staff easily made up for that and we had a great meal overall.

Took the kitchen two hours to get our food. Very very slow. We arrived at 6:45 and did not get out food until 8:45. It took 1 hr for us to get a margarita and a martini. I would not go back.
Took a little longer than expected to get food but when we did it was delicious! Service was phenomenal.
Food arrived cold for 2 of 3 entrees. Did not like the 25min egg, Was super runny. Overall disappointed
This my second time to dine at The Hive and I was not disappointed! The food was very good, the service (thanks to Jefferson) was extraordinary, and very reasonably priced. I look forward to going again !
Every single item was well-prepared and exceptionally delicious. We basked in the friendly service and admired the staff's efficiency. The hot tea is served in individual tea pots and the local brand they serve is terrific! I wish I could remember the name of the local tea brand and of the individual teas that we ordered. For breakfast, my gluten-free friend ordered The Hive Breakfast (two eggs -- he chose over-easy, crisp bacon, hash browns, and gluten-free toast -- which came with yummy honey butter and raspberry jam). They permit substitutions, so his bacon was a substitute for the menu's sorghum sausage, and his hash browns were a substitute for the menu's war eagle mill grits. I ordered the Egg White Omelet (wilted spinach, shiitake mushrooms, cheddar cheese and toast -- which came with yummy honey butter and raspberry jam) along with a side of the war eagle mill grits. The cheddar cheese on my omelet was a substitute for the menu's goat cheese. I chose the sourdough bread for my toast. Every single item was fantastic! The omelet was out of this world, and the grits were the best I had ever eaten. This is a really special place with very special, friendly and attentive service and exceptionally well-prepared food. Highly recommend.
