A friend of mine is a regular customer and told me I may find something I liked on the menu , so she and I had dinner at the Purple Onion last weekend . It was very crowded and I’m told that it’s like that often . It’s a very popular spot . The menu was loaded and it was hard for me to decide . They had a lot of great choices . I settled on Leggo My Eggo burger with Cajun mashed potatoes . For an appetizer I ordered fried crawfish tails and a simple lemonade to drink . The burger looked amazing -exactly like the picture . The taste was not as impressive . There was no seasoning at all on the meat . I had to salt it , or dip it in the extra creole sauce I ordered . The sauce was for the fried crawfish tails which were delicious ! It was the best thing I had and I would go back just for them . The Cajun mash was ok. Again , no real seasoning but was loaded with healthy pieces of crawfish and there was some sort of spicy season that was in there because I could taste the heat but nothing else if that makes sense . My friend ordered the full white wing plate which is chicken breast stuffed with cheese and jalepeanos wrapped in bacon and they were pretty good . They were very filling . I dipped them in sauce as well which helped me enjoy them more. She also ordered white cheese dip and chips and I thought the cheese dip was pretty good . Not amazing , but good . I don’t think she cared for the cheese dip , but enjoyed her white wing plate . She said the cheese dip with the ground beef is better to her . What I can say for sure is that though some things lacked a lot of flavor , the quality was top notch . Like I knew the burger was a good piece of protein . The bacon was a thick cut premium bacon , the eggs were fresh . As long as salt and pepper are in the table you’ll be fine . The service was fantastic . Really great waiter . I’m giving the whole experience a 3.5.

Hands-down the best Étouffée I have had. Almost licked the bowl. Hushpuppies and boudin bites were delicious, and chicken fried chicken could feed 2 people. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable with TVs to watch the game, and the music is nice without being obnoxious or too loud. Reasonable prices with great service.

So I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, but since we are not from the cabin area, our timing is key.
Finished up a volleyball game and wanted something good to eat before we headed home. My entire family has eaten here, but I have not. So we had it on over and I got to try it.
We ordered the barbecue nachos and bacon wrapped jalapeños.
Both were really food! The wonton chips are my absolute favorite when it comes to nachos! Jalapeño bites were awesome. My daughter and I crushed those in a heart beat!
I ordered the white wing plate and it was ok. It supposed to be stuffed with cheese and jalapeños, but my guess is all the cheese cooked out or there was so little of it that it evaporated! If they can figure out how to keep the cheese present then it would be great. But since the cheese was not present, the chicken was on the drier side. Side Caesar salad was ok. Dressing was generic and plentiful!
Everybody enjoyed the meal. We will go back and try some different items next time.

My aunt plus 3 others were at Purple Onion on 11/14/24 for lunch. I have always had excellent food and service at Purple Onion until yesterday. Our waitress was horrible. Also they no longer have my favorite, whiskey sirloin. The waitress told me that it is now called top sirloin. I said ok and that I didn't want the french fried onions on top and the waitress said they don't put onions on the sirloin, lies, they always did 🤣 I ordered it medium well like always. Another in our party ordered Alfredo with no meat and it was dry with no sauce, she asked for more sauce and then it was like soup. Anyway, my steak was so overcooked and no type of seasoning, couldn'teven chew it up. We DID NOT complain to manager, just leaving a review. We were at the long table as soon as you come in door to the right.

The Ribeye po'boy was LIFE CHANGING. Like I'm dead serious when I say that was the best thing I've ever tasted. My husband got the CBR quesadilla which was also good.

Buffalo chicken tacos - the rice was raw (crunchy, grains of uncooked rice), and the chicken was nearly spoiled / about to turn. I had to send my meal back from it being inedible. My husband tried it and agreed. We respect the restaurant business and never send our food back…and if it’s something we didn’t like we just don’t order it again, but this was pretty bad. The waitress took the meal off our ticket and we of course paid for our other items and left a good tip (not her fault). I think the manager on duty should have approached us to discuss the meal so we could show them what is coming out of their kitchen.

The waiter (Phillip)was really fast on service, very friendly, and had a very energetic demeanor. The food was absolutely delicious, and the price was reasonable. The only downfall about the place, which isn't a downfall at all because they are they good, is that the place was packed. ( Of course it is a Friday night so that and the food and service being amazing is a factor I'm certain).
Parking: There is plenty of parking.
