Hello, my name is Spike! Until today I had been clean, no Larb for 5 months.

Thai Chicken Bowl operates in an old gas station in Charleston, AR. It is a bare bones mom and pop operation. The restaurant is barren of décor and a vacuum of ambiance. Order at the counter. The food is delivered to your table. Minimal, but adequate service.

For some reason, I don’t know why I ordered the stinky beef Larb. I just don’t know why. Too late now. I liked this Laotian version even with the smelly overtones of fish sauce. Am I hooked on Larb, or is it self-mortification? Neither, I think I have accepted the challenge to master my phobia of fish sauce. And frankly I have found that good Larb is well ….pretty good. The description on the menu “Spicy Beef” sucked me in. The meal was filled with thin sliced steak, noodles some type of greens, seasoned with chili pepper and a vinegary sauce. Not too bad. My wife had the Coconut Fried Rice with Chicken. A big plate of food, but not outstanding taste. The Egg Drop soup was fair. It could have been a little hotter (temp).

The restaurant has a big varied menu. Chicken Fried Rice seems to be the restaurant’s signature dish. Charleston is a small town. I’m thinking the locals appreciate having an Asian food option.

We stopped in here after the town hall meeting and were so happy with the quality of food and the service. Very nice to have somewhere open until 8:30 too. I got the chicken drunken noodle - level 3 spice - and it was so flavorful with good heat. The crab Rangoon appetizer was tasty and the egg drop soup is unique, but not to be missed.

Consistently delicious. We got 4 different dishes and it was all wonderful. I've tried Fried rice, Pho, and especially Lo Mein at several places around Fort Smith and Thai Chicken Bowl was better than all of them. The Smoked Salmon Roll was as flavorful as the rest of it. With all of these dishes I'm usually left wishing they had more flavor, but not this time! Very satisfied.

My little family went today and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious (the servings were great sizes and we had some leftover) and the waiter was very polite. We also got bubble tea and it was really good. We will be back! ❤️

I went there today and got the yakuza roll, egg drop soup, boba tea. I spent about $26 on all that and it was worth it. The roll was put together really well and the egg drop soup had a twist I'd never had before but it was welcome surprise. Never thought of cilantro in egg but it definitely adds alot of flavor I really enjoyed. The restaurant definitely brings more variety of food you can get in the charleston area. It would be my first recommendation for anyone looking for decently priced food with tons of flavor that wanted to stay local.

So here is a little secret about Thai Chicken Bowl. All their food is good, but they have the absolutely best fried rice in Fort Smith! Now this is a tough title to earn as there are a lot of places with great fried rice in Fort Smith. However, Thai Chicken Bowl has multiple different types of fried rice. You can get the pineapple fried rice which comes with raisins, the savory fried rice with avocados, but my favorite is the green curry fried rice. Not only is the basic flavor of the rice amazing, but like their coconut fried rice, the green curry fried rice is topped with an ample amount of coconut! Now, I like things a bit on the spicy side and usually order mine with a lvl 3 spice (out of five). For me, this is just enough heat to know it's there, but not enough to even break a sweat. When you add that spice to the green curry seasoning you have the perfect blend of flavor and spice. But when you top that off with the coconut you get a little burst of sweetness at the same time! Do yourself a favor and go try their fried rice, any of their fried rice! Considering that they have about six or seven different types of fried rice it may take you a few trips to find which one is YOUR fried rice, but when you do, I challenge you to find better fried rice in town. Oh, the rest of their menu is good as well.

The food here was unexpectedly good. We chose to do takeout from here based on reviews and we were pleasantly surprised even then. Coming from Los Angeles, a region with some of the best Thai food in the US, I was just hoping for decently good. The food is REALLY good and is pretty authentic. Friendly owners, clean (mentioning that as right now that IS a thing), fresh ingredients, tastily prepared. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend trying them.
