Extremely disappointed with my experience at Great American Cookie in Conway.
I placed an order for a cookie cake and had a great experience initially. But when I went to pick it up today, things took a turn.
The owner, Chad, asked for my name and showed me the cake. When I saw the “B” for Bengals it didn’t look like what I expected or like the photo two employees pulled up on their phones and reviewed off google - but the rest looked GREAT.
Rather than handling it kindly, he grabbed a bag of icing and started making “corrections” in a rude and dismissive way.
He questioned why I didn’t like it and when I asked if the “B” could just be removed he said no. Once explained I completely understood. Just said “it wasn’t what I expected and don’t ask a customer for their honest opinion if you truly don’t want it”. Then he offered a refund instead and told me “I could just go buy a box of cookies or something”. 🙃 I explained its already paid for and I needed the cake for a gathering and couldn’t just go get something else. I asked him numerous times to please just give me the cake so I can leave. He snapped a photo of the cake and kept trying to toss me his business card and making sure I knew he was the owner. As I walked toward the door, he sarcastically said “have a great day, Karen”. I calmly turned around and said “My name isn’t Karen — and you’re aware of that. Calling someone a Karen nowadays is completely rude and means someone is being a jerk of a customer” that was NOT me and how it was unprofessional and incredibly rude move on his part. -5/10 experience.
There are too many kind, local bakers, to support instead of one who insults you on the way out the door. 🚪
I will never ever walk back into that man’s place of business EVER.
Pretty darn good, in general. Only complaints are that the cookies are really thin and maybe could use a bit more time in the oven. Still worth the money.
We get these cookie cakes occasionally for our kids' birthdays. The latest one was pretty sad. Very little effort in decorating and super thin.
On there menu, it literally said “Buy 5 get 10 free”. They refused to honor it due to a “mess up”. I attempted to get a manager on site, I was told there wasn’t one and given an email to contact someone because there was “no corporate number” I will be emailing and contacting whomever I can to resolve this issue. This was literally false advertisement!

Best if you order ahead. I've gone in before and the selection was not that good. But the cookies are really great for a sweet treat. ?

There were 3 workers and 1 of the girls just stood there not acknowledging me at all while the other 2 workers helped customers. I had to wait quite a while just to get a few cookies.

Had a great time with my daughter and grandson. He had so much fun and loved his ice cream!
This team did another excellent job with my cookie order for a boy baby shower, theme, "Under Construction" Thank you!
I tried 2 cookies from here today (chocolate chip and white chunk macadamia) cuz I forgot this cookie place was even here. But frankly, they're just ok. The white chunk one seemed a tad undercooked but the flavor on both was just standard, like a cookie from a store bakery. Not the super cheap ones but like the cookies that are around 5-6 bucks for a dozen. There are 2 better cookie options in town so I'll stick with those.
If there was a negative star, I would leave that. I have been held up at gunpoint by someone more polite than "Chad".
