New staff of gentlemen are exceptional

All three of our chicken entrees were dry, hard, and chewy. They also lacked flavor. And the side of “fried rice” was just plain brown rice. Very disappointed.

I went there from Mayflower tonight. Worse food I've ever had. I ordered two dinners, got home only had yucky, dried, hard, over cooked chicken. Sweet and sour chicken tasted like hard rubber. Fried rice tasted so bad. Had to throw out!!!

I have been a patron of Oriental Kitchen for many years. Always been my “go to” take out Chinese in Conway. I am very disappointed. I ordered my food at 505pm. Arrived at 530pm and my food wasn’t ready. It got to be 545, I inquired why it was taking so long. They stated they don’t start the order until you arrive. I explained, I ordered 25 minutes prior online for it ready when I got there. We went back and fourth for about 5 minutes, and he just apologized and made up excuses of the air is out, we don’t want your food to be cold. So on. I asked if they would discount my food. He looked at me like I was stupid. I said I’m not asking for a full refund, he went on to say here is $5, 10% of your meal. Maybe I should be thankful he gave me $5 back. But from someone who comes from the food industry, if anything like this happened at my place of work, the manager would have gone to the table to apologize and let them know that he/she would take care of the meal. It’s unprofessional for me to have put my food in online at 505pm and it not be ready until 555pm. Almost an hour and 1/2 that time I was present waiting on my food. I gave them almost 30 minutes to have my food ready before I arrived.
Also, I ordered vegetable Lo Mien. When I got home, it was noodles with some cabbage in it. I have attached a photo of it below. That is unacceptable. I spent $50 tonight for horrible service, food that took an hour from when I initiated online. Which includes giving them 30 minutes before even arriving. Food that was prepared incorrectly with not having vegetables in the Lo Mein, orange chicken overcooked. They usually have great food! But my business will be taken elsewhere, even if that means driving across town to Jade China.

It took forever for us to get our food, like an hour at least for some takeout, AND it wasn't even the right food. They didn't mark for which meals followed the dietary request even though they said it would be an easy accommodation. I do not recommend, will not be ordering again.

I've lived here for 13 years first time trying it tonight. And wow! Absolutely delicious! Best Chinese food in Conway! The manager and his staff were so kind. The food was wonderful everything fresh. You definitely get your moneys worth. This is going to be my to go to place. Thank you for kind service definitely recommend and will be back!

OLD REVIEW FROM A YEAR + AGO: Love love Love the Oriental kitchen! The VERY BEST around!

UPDATED REVIEW 06/06/2025: Previous owners have retired now. Under new ownership, the food quality, taste, etc. has gone WAAAY DOWN through the floor. It's HORRIBLE now. Still huge portions but if it's terrible who cares? My daughter got the beef and brocoli and got a piece of beef that was so grisly it was not cutable / edible at all. Remaining beef of questionable quality but that ruined it for her. My husband and I got our old favorites simply just chicken fried rice and shrimp fried rice. The onions were chunks not finely diced as they were in the past - the chicken was not diced, large cut pieces and GROSS quality. The overall taste was SO SO BAD. I am SOOOOO SAD. I hope previous original owners are having a wonderfuly retirement. This new version with the same name, just needs to go!

I'm originally from New York, and I've been to plenty of Chinese places all over the country. When my wife and I moved to Conway, I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to find anything resembling good Chinese food in the area (especially after our Korean expedition didn't go the greatest). Did some research on Reddit, and Oriental Kitchen kept popping up as the best in the area.

My wife and I ordered some, and I saw it was next to a gas station. We have an inside joke that if the restaurant is next to a gas station, you know it's going to be good.

Sure enough, that mantra has not failed us yet. We got takeout, and when we got home, I had my first bite of Orange Chicken, and I could not believe how crispy and flavorful it was. My wife had the General Tso's, and it was also delicious. The fried rice was delectable in addition to the soup and appetizers.

I'll be back again and again. It's made my life in Conway much better knowing good Chinese is right around the corner.

There's never a swing and miss with oriental kitchen it's always great

Stopped by on the way back from on a road trip to North LR. Food and service was fantastic....very large portions and sent us home with more soup....
