My husband surprised me with a date night and we drove the 30 minutes to Conway to a restaurant I'd never heard of. We went on a Friday night around 6pm. we were seated immediately, the atmosphere was eclectic and unique. I loved that it was able to be an intimate experience as you don't get that often anymore. Our server was knowledgeable and sweet, taking care to give us any detail we asked. we had the margharita flatbread as an appetizer, shared the chopped salad, and I had the smoked chicken, collard greens and carrots. My husband had the surf and turf type meal with mashed potatoes and green beans. We were told (thankfully) to leave room for dessert so we planned carefully and shared bread pudding. Please believe me when I explain this: every single freaking bite of food that went in our mouths was SO GOOD. I wish i could explain that further but I'm going to keep the review PG 🙂. We even brought home a 2nd dessert and ate it the next day (and enjoyed the rest of the leftovers from dinner). We will definitely return when they move to their new location. Thank you for a 100% amazing experience.
Lance is amazing, great person and took really good care of us. First time here, it was great. Food was so good. Can’t wait til they are in downtown Conway!
Last Friday, we finally got the chance to check out Volstead Proper, and it did not disappoint! We kicked things off with a Cuban sandwich, some mac and cheese, and a variety of wings during happy hour. The Cuban sandwich and the wings were absolutely fantastic! We opted for the peach jalapeño and hot honey flavors, and they were delicious. For dessert, we decided to give the bread pudding a shot, even though it’s not typically my favorite. To my surprise, it was delightful! So much so that my husband took our son back just two days later.
Great food and amazing service thanks Lexi for the recommendation on the menu..wings, home made chips and filet were amazing!
Great food and unique mixed drinks.

We went for Sunday Brunch as a surprise birthday for my fiancee. The food was delicious, drinks were top notch and prices were acceptable. Everyone in our group had a great dining experience! We will be going back!

My husband and I decided to try Volstead Proper for brunch today. This restaurant is new to Conway. Lance was our server and he was very courteous and professional. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and found the flavors to be satisfying and enjoyed their take on a Cuban sandwich. Our only suggestion is that the Ciabatta be toasted to help alleviate the thickness and chewiness of this bread. I had the Brisket and Gravy. This dish has great flavor but was not warm enough when it was served to me. The breakfast potatoes are top notch and put many other restaurant breakfast potato offerings to shame. Our server accepted our critique of our meals as a chance to improve. We will definitely be trying Volstead Proper again in the near future. Please give this new restaurant a chance to earn your business and ask for Lance!

Tiniest wings and drums we have ever had. We were laughing saying they must use miniature chickens. Half the size of Wing Stop or BWW. Potato skins had no flavor. Unimpressive.

This is a great little Kentucky-esq Bourbon Bar right here in Conway, we enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and our server was great. She was friendly and informative and provided great service. I recommend you try the seafood chowder, it was decadent and delicious. My only feedback is that we would definitely eat there regularly if there was a little more variety in price and food options in the main courses. There are a few moderately priced and a few pricey options. We will for sure be back to try out brunch!
We LOVE this place. My go tos are their half smoked chicken with glazed carrots and mashed potatoes. We regularly take advantage of their 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour. Highly recommend!
Dined in recently with my husband and we both enjoyed our meals so much! My husband got the smoked chicken and I got the Cuban sandwich. The staff was also very friendly and overall we had a great date night!

Positives first, our server was good. I can't remember his name but no issues there. So first off this used to be a Steak and Shake. And so you already know this wasn't a big building. But they're trying hard to create this real upscale atmosphere in there and honestly it just makes the space seem even smaller. It feels like they sacrificed space for a look.
Next up the food. We got cheese dip. It is 100% Rotel dip from a potluck with bacon added. Now that's not to say it tasted bad, but it's definitely not some new exciting cheese dip you've never had. I did like the thick chips they serve with it but this wasn't impressive.
We had brunch. I got the French toast. It was fine but it's hard to mess up French toast. My biggest issue is that it says "topped with strawberries" and as you will see from my photos there was like 2 tiny strawberries cut up on there. They are barely a garnish and should not be listed as a feature. The side of bacon was fine, could have been a little crispier.
Now for the brisket Benedict. The eggs were overcooked and the presentation looked like something from a hospital cafeteria. It didn't LOOK appealing at all. And the most egregious part is that the brisket was bland with zero smoke flavor. None. For a place that seems to be promoting itself as a restaurant that specializes is smoked meats, this ain't it chief. It somehow had a smoke ring with no smoke. I'm not even sure how you do that. It's honestly impressive to give the illusion of smoke with none of the flavor.
From reading reviews and speaking to people who live in Conway, this place wants to be the kind of joint that requires reservations. They are a LONG way from that. If they can't get a basic brunch right, they're in trouble. Go back through my reviews and note the Waffle House. It has better brunch/breakfast I can assure you. This place has potential but the food is not living up to it yet. I get the impression this restaurant WANTS to be a place like Rober in Benton that's a little upscale but not totally pretentious. They're going to have to wildly improve their food to ever get close to something like that.
