Been living in the Twin Lakes area for 5 years and their A1 Peppercorn burger is the best burger I’ve ever had here, and I’ve been to all the restaurants. In fact, I’d venture to say it was one of the best burgers I’ve had anywhere recently. And I’m a burger snob. Also tried the chicken Parmesan and that was excellent, too. Whoever their chef is is a real asset to this restaurant. I just found my new favorite restaurant.
Had Valentines dinner,,,, Everything was exceptional !!!!! We had a great time!!!

This is our go-to breakfast spot! The food is always consistently good, and the restaurants is clean.
Lia may be one of the best servers in the area.

Our first visit to this establishment. Not any kind of warm or friendly greeting. Food took a long time to get.

Had the opportunity to experience this restaurant on Thursday 12/4/25. It was excellent in all aspects. No reservation no problem for us but it did get crowded. The staff were attentive and prompt. The food excellent as well. Upscale but practical would be my description. I highly recommend this if you are in the area.

What a Pleasant surprise. Excellent. Friendly greeting by the host, server was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the Chicken Parm it was perfectly prepared. Absolutely the best Chicken Parm I have ever eaten. Breading was crispy , didn't get soggy with the cheese and sauce, nice moist large breast. Spaghetti and sauce was delicious, fresh basil garnish.
I had the Choco Flan for dessert it was delicious. It's a flan with a cake baked together. Firmer flan and moist and chocolatey cake. Fresh baked. ( They have a baker dessert chef) Would order both again. A pleasant surprise, the Chef knows their trade and kitchen staff do a great job. I made happy plates even though both entree and dessert were good sized portions, more than enough.
I highly recommend .
The breakfast was excellent as well.
Everything delicious, fresh and served with a smile. Good variety of meals and good prices! Dinner on Thursday to Saturday nights have some unique and truly wonderful entrees as well. Right next to the Cotter Trout Lodge (can walk from there). We ate multiple meals there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Defiantly recommend!
Lia is a great person and she has a smile everyday and when I worked there I would always get her ice and to go cups ready for her all I want to say is Lia you are still my friend and be safe and you know what I mean
Love this little place! Great atmosphere, and now they have dinner which has been amazing! I had the chicken parm for dinner, leftovers the next night, and had to stop by for lunch the same day and try the Philly. so good!
This was my second meal at The Sands. I ordered one of their weekly specials- the Norwegian Salmon- pan seared with lemon chive butter served with squid ink spaetzle, butternut squash purée and roasted Brussels sprouts. It was delicious. I decided to top it off with the Black Cocoa Cake. I almost never eat the frosting on a cake- too sweet. I could have eaten the frosting with a spoon it was so good! Not too sweet, just a hint of salty and very light.

What a surprise! We were expecting a small town diner with diner food, but on weekend evenings they serve upscale dishes that are nicely prepared and presented at an affordable price! What a treat in this little river town.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The inside is beautiful, the waitstaff is wonderful, and three weeks later we're still talking about the Chicken Parmesan!
Very nice little cafe we stopped at for breakfast, excellent service and food, and a nice, laid back atmosphere

I was not prepared for what I found here. Expecting a greasy spoon I discovered a taste of class. Pork chops on a bed of cuscus and Japanese eggplant! Desert Hack: Ask if they have Ice Cream, it's not on the menu but you'll enjoy home made peach ice cream if they have it
