Kristi's kitchen, what a hidden or shall I Say treasure that's nestled in Des Arc, Arkansas, some of the most delectable and well prepared southern fried foods you can imagine, and for some fresh raw fish there are second to None!

Amazing food and excellent service. Best burger and fries around!!! Family owned and operated and they care about the quality of food they serve. Cozy atmosphere and you definitely feel at home the minute you walk in.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I almost gave this a 1 star but we did not "hate" it. The catfish was good -- really good actually. Unlike farm raised catfish that has no flavor except for the breading used, they serve fresh caught White River Catfish. The White runs clear most of the time so there is no "muddy flavor" but, there is flavor and it is really good. Lightly breaded and fried to perfection. If you like really good tasting catfish, and have tolerance for long waits regardless of the customer pressure -- and most likely RELLY LONG WATS if the dinning room is full, this you might think this is a 5 star place. We arrived just after 1 PM on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Dondi's ( is only open for evening dinner so this seemed to be a good second choice. This is a true Main Street location in a building storefront that most likely dates to the 1930's if not earlier and it looks like it. Worn painted concrete floors. A fiber board ceiling that is sagging. Old style but comfortable booths lining the walls. No windows. One long table and I think four 4-seater tables. No wait staff. You walk to the back left and place your order at the kitchen. There were 4 workers in the kitchen. There were only six tables with customers waiting and only one of the 6 were eating. There was no take-out window and no apparent take out customers waiting. We ordered the 3 catfish dinner that comes with hushpuppies and french fries. ($12) plus ice tea. ($30 total) The stated wait time was 15 to 20 minutes. We thought that was a bit odd as usually, pre-dinner prep anticipates the customer base and such is ready to serve hot in minutes but we sat and waited ..... and waited ..... and waited 35 minutes --- as did every one else! When I asked about the delay at the 30 minute point, I was greeted with a rude and uncaring response. THAT alone will stop us from ever visiting this place again despite that fact that the catfish was delicious. The hushpuppies were owl egg sized and only two. They were perfectly cooked and delicious but at that size at least 4 should have been on the "plate" (actually, you are served in take-our styrofoam containers) if not 6. The french fries were frozen bagged store variety but well cooked. Crispy out and soft in. This could be a true 4 or 5 star hole in the wall if they would get their act together with much quicker service. They thought they had been rushed but there was no sign of such pressure. They need training on front end customer service also. For such a long wait, an extra filet was in order as well as compassionate responses to customers who expect more. This is a sleepy little river town so there is no excuse for rudeness. Every one should expect more and treated with great service as well as good tasting catfish.

While the fish were a decent size, the crust had a taste of burnt or old cooking oil.The slaw was different, the fries were good.

Stopped in while visiting Des Arc and old family home. Ordered fried catfish, hushpuppies, spicy fries and cole slaw. Not bad. Catfish was fresh and the sweet tea cups were giant. Pretty unique atmosphere.

I am an African American woman and I purchase $15 dollars in catfish from this place on August 2,2022. The owner knowing sold me some spoil fish. I noticed that he washed the fish longer than usually because it shouldn't have been that dirty coming out of freezer. When he weighed it, the total was $16.97 but he only charged me $15. I iced it down on my way back to my house. When I got home, I put it in the freezer, I didn't notice the foul smell until several days later. It stunk so bad, I had to throw it away. I wonder did he knowing sell me this fish because of the color of my skin or he really needed the money. I will never buy fish again from White and Son's Fish Market in Des Arc Arkansas and I recommend other people not to either.
