Just passing through and saw this place close to 167, so we stopped. We were in a hurry so got a to go order, brisket sandwiches, everything was delicious! We loved the potato salad and coleslaw, brisket was great, even the tea was good! The staff is friendly, so this place gets 5 stars, we love the small mom and pop places that are still around serving up tasty food!!!

It just bar b que nothing special about it to make you want to go back you definitely have to use the sauce there's no way around it // the bar b que beans was the best thing on plate we had ribs sausage and brisket// I would rather have had a mc Rib from mc Donald's and we all know that sucks

Howellâs Barbecue is hands-down one of the best BBQ spots around! The flavors are incredible, and everything tastes like it came straight off a pit masterâs grill. I don't normally don't eat BBQ out because I smoke meat at home a lot, but I decided to try Howell's as I passed through town. I am so glad I did. I ordered the pulled pork dinner, potato salad, and baked beans. The meat was flavorful and juicy, and the potato salad was just like my Grandma used to make. The lady at the counter was super sweet and friendly. The portion size was large as well. The spicy sauce was really good too. I'll be stopping again when I go through town!

Traveling through on a motorcycle vacation and hunger hit. We opted for bbq and Howells hit the spot.
Mommaâs pulled pork sammy was flavorful, moist, and âyummyâ according to her. My sausage and turkey 2-meat plate was also very good. Sausage is not spicy, not greasy, and very pleasant. Turkey was moist and with a little of the âspicyâ (not really) bbq sauce it was great.
Potatoes and gravy were average, turnip greens probably from a can, but the cornbread was excellent.
Definitely beats fast food and the service was great! We ate it all!
