I rode this great train several years back. For those wondering why the temporally closed at some times, that is because this is a seasonal operation. It is open mostly during the summer. Although the trains that they pull used to run year round back in the days when steam engines were the rule.

Had a great time here! Thank you David for making this a very pleasant experience.

Was awesome, this place needs more publicity. The whole train team was great and the conductor was great at telling stories and the history of the Eureka railroad, I was totally engaged even though I was extremely tired from work. Thanks so much guys for making this a fun learning experience. ?

The Beef Stroganoff was amazing! Scenery was beautiful and train ride was fun! The staff were all very friendly, and even cleaned the windows when they kept fogging up so that we could see out!

What a cool excursion! We did the lunch train, everyone was so friendly and the food was pretty good too! Can't wait to go back again!

My husband and I did a lunch train (last one of the season in October) and I absolutely loved it. As many have said, the train does go out, stop in the woods for the meal, then reverses back to the station. This didn't bother me a bit since this was my first time ever being on a dining cart. The staff was very friendly and although the food wasn't anything extravagant, I really loved the chicken salad! The kids on our train also seemed to be having a blast as well! Definitely recommend doing this at least once.

It was terrible, food was cold , couldn't get a refill, our wedding party got ice cold food and treated super poorly , all staff and servers were rude with an atitude. The bride had to serve rolls to her own guests and if u needed to use the bathroom that was a big NO! Because is was broke . For the amount of money Mc ds would have been better not to mention all the dust on the nasty curtains and windowsills.

Unfortunate experience with wedding event held there. Staff showed they were dramatically overwhelmed for what really was an easy group to deal with. They didn’t have bathroom available and no refills. Event was planned beforehand as well. Poor attitude from staff.

A wonderful experience!!! The people are so nice and the food is delicious. A must do if you come to this beautiful town. The only thing I have had trouble with is that they do not answer the phones when you call during the posted business hours. I also sent an email, and it was never answered either.

This dinner train was booked a few months in advance for our wedding reception. It was a total disaster. We were not let on the train until 5:30 and From the moment we got on the train we were met with unfriendly staff. The server was rude and irritated. We were served water or tea of which not a single guest was able to get a refill of on the 2 hr ride.My husband got his trout served to him cold the vegetables were cold in the middle and about 10 min later I got my plate of cold grey prime rib. Most of our guests cld not eat their food. I heard my guests asking for more rolls so I went to the kitchen and asked if more rolls could be brought out. This lady snarled at me asking 'what you want like a basket of rolls. I responded with sure have the bride serve rolls at her own reception. Smh she actually handed me a basket of rolls and sent me on my way. I just rolled with it as to not ruin my reception any further. There were 4 meals paid for that were to be wrapped up for me because we had a few guests who cldnt come and when I asked for them I was told there is no more food and the kitchen is closed. FINALLY I got the manager patty to call me and she was the ruder than them all. She tried to tell me that I was told on 3 separate occasions that they do not do wedding receptions. Smh I was never told this at all and if they do not allow this then why would you take my money? We spent close to $3000 on this 1 dinner and ride for our wedding reception and was never told no. Not 1 single time! She was totally unapologetic even after telling me they were short staffed. That's not my fault I booked this MONTHS in advance. There is so much more but I'll save it for court. Very disappointed and feel like they ruined my special day.

A very cute concept. It can be a little boring though. You really only travel about a mile down track, stop, and return after dinner and dessert are served. So if you think the sway if the train and constantly changing scenery will help the conversation flow, you may have to rely on good old face to face nothing else to do conversation ? and the cellular reception out there was spotty for me. A great experience for everyone to try once. It was romantic to watch the couples. Inside the train is just beautiful and what you might expect a train from 80 years ago to look. A fun experience. The property is private however with many old trains on display it makes for some very beautiful photos. The owner was very nice and friendly and took time to have a conversation with everyone on board. I personally did not care for most of the food served, although some was good. However, I believe I was in the minority as I looked around and most others had cleared their plates. The servers and staff were very polite and friendly and also took some time listening to and conversing with their tables. My son was 12 and enjoyed it. He was a little bored at times but enjoyed the amount of food served.

I reserved and paid for the whole train car for my wedding reception dinner. There was an immediate noticable attitude from the staff. There were 40 of us and they were understaffed making the existing staff spread very thin. So thin In fact that not a single person was able to get even a refill of water. The food smh the food was terrible I ordered the conductor which was served to me cold and grey. I heard several of my guests asking if more rolls could be brought out and all requests were ignored. I went to the kitchen and asked myself and was met with another rude staff member asking me "what do you want? Like a basket of rolls?" I responded with "sure have the bride serve her own guests at her reception." To which my sarcasm was met with a basket of rolls. Smh when I finally got the manager to call me, she was rude and made zero apologies for any part of our evening on her train. Also the bathroom was broken and for most of the ride we were without a place to use the restroom until I demanded that they allow us to use the bathroom on the other train car. This was the biggest waste of money and biggest disappointment on the biggest best day of my life

We booked an evening dinner train. I'll start with the positives... the waitress staff were amazing! There was a large group of tour bus senior citizens and somehow those 2 ladies were able to do an amazing job of delivering fresh hot food and keeping our cups full. Kudos to them! The meal was really good. The salad seemed fresh, the main course was hot and tasty. The cup of soup tasted like a can of Campbell's, but it was decent. And the desert was an ice cream cake from DQ, but it was okay too.The condition of the train cars themselves, as well as the engine, were unfortunate. When we first arrived and saw them on the tracks, we assumed the actual train must have been out on a ride, but nope. The outside was dirty, flaking paint. The inside was much the same. The cars were very musty inside, tons of areas of interior design that needed attention. Visible water damages, etc. Walking up to the bathroom area gave a view of the food preparation car. It did not build my confidence in the cleanliness of the food. The first half mile of the track was like riding through a dump. There were discarded train parts, trash, piles of trash, piles of debris. It appeared that it had not been cared for much at all. The train depot was unsightly and smelly, the restrooms were quite disgusting too.If not for the waitresses, I would actually score a 2 star. For reference, total price for 2 tickets was $105.87. It was rather underwhelming a trip for the price.
