Popped in for lunch with the family. Ordered the Where the Wild Things Are grilled cheese sandwich with gluten free bread. To be able to say the gluten free bread was delicious is already a win! The sandwich was amazing. Our server was very friendly and polite. It was a busy lunch time but our food came out promptly and all the substitutions we asked for were correct.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available. Yay!

Great place in Fayetteville. Cool atmosphere, great food and good selection of local craft beers.

Good in concept, poor on execution. If your schtick is grilled cheese, it should at the very least come out hot with melted cheese. We got bread that was decently toasted with congealed, cold cheese. 6 people at our table and not a hot sandwich to be found.

So good we didn't even get a pic of the plates before we started! Such a perfect, and simple French onion soup, the food was orgasmic! Drew our server, was great. Had a 30 min wait to get in a worth every minute of it!

Used to be five starts but doesn't seem as good as.it once was. Breed didn't seem grilled well I'm this most recent visit. Maybe it was a fluke. I'll be back as I've always loved Hammontrees and update my review accordingly.

First time here and taken back by the pay to park lot as I rarely see them unless it's someplace like Chicago even though it's not 50 cents for 1 hour. The pay booth says the minimum is $1.00 to pay so you have 2 hours there.
Anyway, the food was great as a friend and I went here for lunch after going to the VA. I had the el chupacabra which wasn't hot. Hot in terms of peppers and not hot as in warm food as the food was warm and tasty.
With it I had a cup of French Onion soup which the broth works with the chips you may have to absorb it and not waste it.
Here's a photo of the sandwich with the chips I had already in the broth as I had the main part of the soup before. I didn't take a photo of what my friend ordered. We only chose water as a drink.
The next time I'm in the area and not going to the VA (as that's my main reason to go to Fayetteville,) I'll try to come here again and try something else on the menu.

Today we decided to take our niece to try out Hammontree's since she's never been there. She's a vegetarian and I just knew she'd love it! Our food was good per usual. But what we witness from the manager preparing Togo orders was appalling. They had a bunch of Togo order. Maybe 15 or more. The manager who was not wearing gloves was getting pickles out of the pickle bucket with her bare hands despite there being tongs in the bucket. We witnessed her pick up a prepared hotdog and move it from one Togo container to another again using her bare hands. She then wiped her hand on her jean shorts and was on her cell phone then proceeded to pick through a prepared salad. Moving lettuce around with her bare fingers. She was also touching prepared sandwiches for in restaurant orders before they were taken to the tables. Again with her bare unwashed hands. My niece works in food service as have I and if the health department would have witnessed any of this it would have been a major issue. The cook was wearing gloves. Our waitress was nothing short of wonderful. My issue is the manager is setting the standard for the staff. Touching anyone's prepared food bare handed without thoroughly washing your hands is unacceptable.
We only dare venture to Hammontrees when the college students are on break. Even then, it can get crowded fast, so be generally strategic on when you go if you don't want to wait for a table. The East of Edam and The Honkey are probably my all time favorites. I do not enjoy and of their soups, but the sandwiches keep me coming back.

Best dang grilled cheese restaurant ever! I could go on and on about each menu item, but I'll skip the lengthy review. Just go ahead and do yourself a favor - go down there and try it! Try ALL of it! And don't skip dessert!
