In town for a football game and wanted to try something different... good service, good food, and kinda a whole in the wall restaurant from the look outside but overall good experience and good food...

The staff is fantastic. They are obviously committed to good service and a positive work environment. The mood, lighting and music fit. I like this place, but the food was lacking. Both of our meals were under performing and did not satisfy. Just kind of bland. I had the chopped beef and it was underwhelming. Both of my sides were lacking flavor as well. The Mac and cheese was watery. The green beans weren't anything special. Just kind of "blah." That being said, I am willing to try again at a later date soley because of the fantastic service. It's hard to find that level of quality service. Good on you Penguin Ed's.

Started out with fried pickles and onion rings, which were very good. For entree, two of us had the Ribs and one had the pork sandwich. Ribs were good, still moist and good flavor. Pork sandwich was ok, a little dry. Mac and cheese was ok. Baked beans were good. We took home fried pies. We tried peach, chocolate, and oreos and cream. The peach were great, the chocolate was a pudding filling - it was good but we prefer grandma's cocoa, sugar, and butter filling. Haven't tried the oreo one yet but sure it will be good. The crust on the pies is awesome! Overall it was good bbq and we will visit again.

Yummy! My husband and I shared a two meat, two side plate and it was plenty of food! Our waitress was sweet and the food arrived quickly. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star for atmosphere was the restroom. We plan to go back, the bbq chicken and pulled pork were tender, the baked beans had a nice heat.

I've been to Pengine Eds several times now and they never disappoint! My family loves the barbecue, and while I'm allergic to tomatoes, they do have menu items without! I had the black bean burger, my husband had the sliced brisket, and my kiddo ate ALL of her bbq chicken sandwich!
With the kiddo's seal of approval, we'll be back many many times ? Next time, I'm for sure getting a pie ?

Vegetarian options: The BlackBean burger is my go-to, and I'm not vegetarian, just a big fan!

I used to love this restaurant for the way they used to smoke their ribs, but today after my pick up, the meat on the ribs looks dry, burn out, hard to chew and the season is too salty. Not recommended for Diabetes people

Alright, so I don’t even want to do this, but poor service and quality has done this to themselves. I think this is my 3rd or 4th experience with PE. The other experiences were just ok, nothing to write home about. I normally go to the East location, but as they were closed I ordered takeout from the OG spot. I ordered a pork sandwich and a side of potato salad. The employee when I called in said 15 minutes, I got there quicker than expected, maybe 8 minutes, and the food was already sitting and waiting. I paid cash and as the change was veing handed back I put my hand out, a normal thing to do, and my change was grumpily placed on the counter directly bypassing my hand. Mind you I still tipped, but it was rude, then the food was gruffly placed on the counter. There’s the poor service. I thought to myself, “whatever, I’m hungry, hopefully the food is good” all while noticing the bag felt very light. I opened it up when I got to my truck, and the sandwich was by far the smallest pulled pork sandwich ever, and the side was maaaybe three bites (.12) worth of potatoes. Still, I’m patient so I don’t want to go and complain. Then I try the food, and the sandwich is BEYOND bland. I had to bathe it in sauce to make it tolerable.
I’d have given a lower review but the tater salad was tasty despite the small portion. 10/10 will not spend my money there again, especially with the other options in town. (Keep in mind the place was DEAD slow). I love supporting local businesses, and do so constantly, which is why I don’t want to be doing this, but seriously shape up.

Best BBQ in NWA. Has been for decades.

Ya'll tired of that tough old barbecue from down the street? Where they give you more sauce than they give you meat? Then stop by Penguin Ed's in Fayetteville, Arkansas and get yourself a taste of real, southern BBQ.
