Our waitress was so friendly, price is good. They gave up both an extra price of meat for each type of meat we ordered! We thought it was a mistake so we asked and she said it was gratuity meat. I'm not sure if they do that all day long cause we were the third table in right after opening but it was so cool. The food is also so tasty! I really enjoyed the red beans and rice, they were so favorable and just delicious. I love shrimp and got fish and shrimp, the shrimp was so good and was the first thing I ate, I'm not the biggest fan of fish but I really enjoyed it and would go back! My boyfriend really likes fish and chicken and he said we're definitely gonna make another weekend trip so we can eat here again since we live about 2 hours away.

The Fried Fish dinner was excellent. Fresh and delicious. Portions size of everything was satisfying; except red beans and rice was tiny yet delicious. I am an over the road truck driver, and I doordash most my meals. I am often disappointed but not this restaurant would give 10 stars if I could for this order for freshness and taste.

Was pleasantly pleased. Wasn't really planning on going out but wound up at Sam's. It was almost closing time and they had no problem serving us. Was served in less than 10 min. I had the grilled shrimp salad. Shrimp was cooked on a char grill with seasoning that went really well with the shrimp. I didn't put anything else on it like salad dressing or cocktail sauce because it was that good. Everyone else enjoyed the chicken nuggets kids meal and a hamburger. We will be back.

I have always gotten great food but here lately it's been horrible. The fish has no meat on it, and then tonight I ordered for my husband and I and picked it up and it was not right. Then I called and was told to bring it in and they would replace the order. I did that and they only wanted to replace one part of the order. But the other order was cold at that point. They just lost a good customer!

I had a good experience eating at Sam's Southern Eatery for the first time! The service was pretty fast, and my waitress was friendly and attentive. All of my food came hot and freshly cooked. I got the 3 fish and 3 chicken combo with 2 sides. The portion sizes were INCREDIBLE for the price (you can see my hand, which is quite large, touching one of the fries in the picture for reference). I don't think I could actually finish all of the food they gave me, even on my hungriest day! The fish had a nicely spiced cornmeal batter and was well-cooked, and the chicken was pretty good (though nothing ground-breakingly unique). The fries were VERY nice and crispy, even after sitting for a few minutes while I worked on the rest of the food, and they were coated in a flavorful, flaky batter. The mac & cheese was also memorably tasty and creamy; better than the mac & cheese I've had at most similar restaurants. Overall, one of the only things that makes this review a four-star and not a five-star review (for the kind of restaurant that it is) would be the atmosphere. It's pretty ho-hum and really shows its age (you can tell it used to be a Pizza Hut in its former life... and there's not much at all to its interior decorating and appearance). All-in-all, I would definitely recommend you give Sam's Southern Eatery a try. I definitely plan to give them a visit again, and this time with my family! ?

Stopped in for a quick lunch while on the road. The service was great, food was served hot and fresh, prices were very affordable and the portions were very generous. Catfish was cooked perfectly and sides were also on point. There's something magical about that tarter sauce!
