Doc’s Fish & Steak in Garland City is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in Arkansas. The moment you walk in, you get that warm, hometown feel that you just can’t fake. The staff treats you like family, the service is quick, and the food… unreal.
The catfish is fried perfectly — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The shrimp is fresh and flavorful, the hushpuppies are addicting, and even the sides taste like someone’s grandma made them with love. If you’re a steak person, their ribeye is cooked exactly how you ask and comes out juicy every single time.
This is the kind of place you go to once, and instantly know you’ll be back. Worth every minute of the drive and every dollar spent. If you want a real Southern meal done right, Doc’s is the spot. Highly recommend!

Some of the best food I've ever had. The wait staff is friendly and courteous. most times I've been there, the place is still least 75% full. Great friendly owners and staff. You won't regret the experience.

I wouldn't recommend. Drove out bc I wanted a change and regretted it after setup was served. A small cup of beans were served and I politely ask for more and the waitress said they were complimentary and I couldn't have anymore. I ordered the fried catfish filets and they were so small I said NEVER be back. There were only about 6 people total in the establishment. Maybe they were saving their food for a expected later crowd. Not worth the drive nor the price for what was served. I'll stick to The Fish Bowl in Ashdown!!

As a passer by not being from the south. I found this place driving up 82. Being a black man I was nervous pulling up to this establishment. But the food, service and atmosphere was good. Thank you to the waitress and the owners for the great service and all you can eat catfish that feed my family. I will return in the future......

I like fish!!!!! I don't like crunchy pieces of nothing!!!! Spendy too! The boiled shrimp was tough, I will not be going back. Our hush puppies were cold, overall just plain waste of money. I keep giving them a try, but I am through.

Have loved Doc's for years now. The food and service are always so good. And I love the atmosphere with all the vintage decor.
Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats available. Not sure about high chairs, but possibly. They do have a kid's menu also.
