I rarely post reviews unless it's a really good or bad dining experience. So please take this with a grain of salt! My wife and I were excited to finally try the Kroc-Coo's food. First of all this venue in so beautiful to behold and the Sunday brunch buffet was well staffed and we received good service. I wish I could say the food was decent; but that would be a huge stretch. The first glance as we stepped UP to the buffet line was a huge container of undercooked bacon, of which we both immediately decided against. A look at the other breakfast selections was also a no go. A few minutes later a nice elderly lady asked about getting some "crispy" bacon and the cook comes out on the floor and remarks to this poor lady.... "sure I can make you some burned if you like"? Pretty condescending to treat a customer with this crap and she didn't say she wanted burnt bacon, she asked for bacon the way most people including myself like it! Crispy!! It was all I could do not to give that j*** a piece of my mind. Just because we are in the mist of a pandemic it doesn't give you the right to belittle good people and yes the whole establishment could hear you. Normally I love biscuits and gravy, so I chose this with some fried chicken, cup of gumbo, and Mac/cheese. The first bite of it I almost puked literally! It wreaked badly of the worst scalded taste & smell, and set the tone to completely ruin our meals. I politely informed one of the ladies and she brought me a small cup of the very same junk and I almost puked again. Later she came back by and stated that they had indeed scalded the gravy but were not planning a new batch even though there was a large number of people there. Do what sister? Do the cooks and owner not even sample their food before serving it to their guests? We laughed when the cook finally had the entire dish of gravy pulled from the buffet. Continuing.... the fried chicken was just okay and pink in the middle, so we quickly moved on to the mac/cheese - which was okay but barely warm. Finally, the famous Kroc-Coos gumbo - it was actually real good and chock full of chicken, sausage and goodness; but absent of any hint of seafood and okra normally used and associated with a good gumbo. However the gumbo and nice staff moves my rating from a low 1-star to a low 2-star. We had hoped to cap out this horrible meal with a good desert to reward my unhappy palate and soul. The apple crisp certainly looked great, but tasted like of canned apples and was pretty bland and tasteless. About the same could be said of the cinnamon bunt cake or whatever that stuff was? Meanwhile, no visit from the chef or owner even after we complained. At this point we decided to cut-and-run because in 58 years I can honestly say this is the worst buffet ever. To add injury to insult, we were presented with a tab of nearly $50 (including tip) for two buffets & two teas and have learned our lesson and will NOT be back. Unfortunately it didn't end here. Within 15 minutes of making it home to Lake Desoto both my wife and I were sick and made the Usain Bolt run for the toilets! Again we wanted to love this place because we are building a home less than a few miles from here; but will venture to say we are ONE & DONE. Lesson learned.

Started with corn soup with jalapeño fritters-excellent , as was my husbands French onion soup. Cajun entrees were wonderful too. Service will improve as they gain experience. Well thought out menu.

Wonderful from start to finish. The bushwhacker drink is a perfect pour and tastes great. For dinner I ordered the naked redfish. I asked the waitress about the spiciness of the sauce. I don't even eat mild salsa, really I don't, I wish more restaurants believed me. She did and made an excellent recommendation. The was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Served over a flavorful rice and again perfectly cooked asparagus. Only recommendation add a few lemon slices to the plate. I asked and received some very quickly. My husband had the jambalaya, again a wonderful dish. I'll take his word for it. If you've visited Kroc-Coo's then you know how good this is. We had the bread pudding for dessert minus the rum sauce plus vanilla ice cream. WOW! Flavorful and spongy. Wonderful offset to the ice cream. Highly recommend you check out this spot.

The menu shown online was not the menu available once we got there. We went around lunch time and there were only 2 other occupied tables other than ours. A few of us ordered the crawfish etoufee, which was a terrible mistake. It came out cold, but being reheated didn’t help. The flavor was way off and none of us were able to eat it; I thankfully only got the half portion but still unfortunately spent $15 on food that was inedible. Other members of our group got the red beans and rice and the lucky dog which they said were good. If you go I recommend NOT getting the etoufee though. Overall in our experience it was pricey and very unimpressive, we will most likely not be back.

Catfish was horrible and really fishy. Only upside was the staff.

I wanted a gift certificate, but was told they didn't have them. After not being a knowledgeable for 10 minutes I was told this. I then went to the pro shop and they didn't know anything about it. The back to the grill, which I brought back over the pro shop, where had to call the POA. It was eventually worked out. My parents wanted this for a gift. It shouldn't have taken 25 minutes for a simple process. I think I was able to help the next customer, so theirs will be a much simpler transaction.

Hadn't been here in a long time, so went to try it. What a pleasant surprise. The food was very good and the server {Patty) was outstanding. The dining room was nearly full, which is always a good sign. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

We eat here often. Have always had excellent food and service. The chef always comes to speak with the guest.out The hamburgers are huge and the best in the Village. Their salads are always fresh. The Sunday brunch all you can eat has always been good and great quality.

Recently stopped by for wing night, good deal, 12.99 all you can eat. Wings were solid, clean inside and spacing (Covid times), an order of fries was a bit pricey for what you get, but otherwise fine. Worth stopping by, Monday is fried chicken night, Ill check back for that.

We had a lovely dinner on the patio and great service by our waitress Colleen (she usually works at the Desoto Country Club). Husband had the steak and I had the chicken. A very pleasant evening at a reasonable price. Wants me to move here to HSV and eat here regularly. We were disappointed that that they were closed on some of other nights due to road maintenance.
