The Bar-B-Q is worth driving to another city to get. The meat is so tender. The new owners are precious to talk to and are so efficient.
It is nice to go there since I went to elementary school 50-years ago down the street (Homer Adkins). After I get my order, I always drive my old school and go down memory land.
If you have not tried this restaurant, I encourage you to add this restaurant to your “to go” list. The Bar-B-W is the best in the State.

The Bar-B-Que Shack is placed out of the way from the hubbub of construction taking place near other restaurants in town, which is nice. This is a great place to sit and grab a bite to eat! The restaurant is under new managment, and while I am unfamiliar with the history of this place or it quality in the past the folks running the place now are incredibly friendly and you can tell they want you to enjoy their food and your experience. The restaurant has a good size menu of bbq staples done well, as well as specials. There's usually a dessert or two at the counter. I've been several times now and really enjoyed my meals. Make sure to give this place a chance and I bet you'll keep going back!

Really enjoyed lunch here. The service was great, very friendly and quick. The ribs were cooked perfectly, tender, and fall off the bone at touch. Slightly over seasoned for my taste but that's just personal choice. Definitely recommend and will return myself.
