Southern Outdoors is a beloved small-town eatery known for its friendly service and variety of offerings. The menu includes a range of options, such as eggs, biscuits, gravy, smoked sausage, and cheeseburgers, all priced reasonably. The grill is operated by a dedicated staff, and during peak times, there might be a wait due to the made-to-order nature of the dishes.
The establishment caters to various needs, whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, fresh produce, or unique items like Amish salsa and Muscadine jelly. The seating area can accommodate 40-50 people, creating a cozy atmosphere. Additionally, Southern Outdoors is wheelchair accessible, although the gravel parking lot might pose a slight challenge.
Customers have praised the delicious food, including the crab legs, crawfish, Philly cheesesteak, and chicken tender wrap with buffalo sauce. The ladies working at Southern Outdoors are described as friendly and hardworking, providing excellent service even when the restaurant is busy. While the wait times can be longer during peak hours, the overall experience is described as a "cute stop" with a "home-town feeling."
