Staff beyond rude. As we were making our way to the only open exit, adjacent to the grab and go counter, we paused and were told rudely” we are closed.” We explained that’s OK. We’re just on our way out. We’ve just finished brunch. With that, we were told again, more rudely this time, we’re still closed. Once again, we said it’s OK. We didn’t want anything. We were just leaving. A third time We were told we are STILL closed. Cheers and “ you go girl“ from an employee in the back. All this directed at two women, one elderly, who had been completely non-confrontational, and had enjoyed a lovely and over-the-top meal in a neighborhood restaurant where there are many dining choices. As an added note, there were other diners still in the restaurant.

I was treated so rudely by staff, Manager Will at that due to this first visit experience to this establishment I doubt I will return. My daughter who brought me here wanted me to try the restaurant. Upon ordering and paying over $64 for items I went to sit down. There was a rope hanging from 2 silver poles in front of the side dining area. The only table in front of these ropes had a man sitting at the table. So I went around the rope and sat at at table . About that time a man came with our soups and said, “ You went around the rope, you need to sit here” and slammed the soups down on the table the unknown gentleman was sitting at.I said there is someone sitting here, the man(Will) says and they need to be leaving . That side is closed we don’t have servers. And Will walked off. The longer I sat there the madder I got. So I asked for the manager when I left and the cashier told me that there was 2 a man and a woman. I chose to speak to the man, unfortunately it was the waiter/server that slammed my food down at an occupied table and told them to leave and me where I had to sit with people I didn’t know. I began by telling him he was very rude, made no eye contact, and very angrily said we always close that side at 3:30 because there is nobody to serve. I explained this was my first visit to this establishment how would I know this and nobody served me or waited on me besides you slamming my food down at another occupied table. I fixed my own drink and served myself and disposed of my trash. He then told me if I wanted to talk to the other manager (woman) that was on the phone help myself! Now I don’t know about others but no matter how good the food is with service and inhospitable as this business was they don’t have to worry about me returning again. I will be more than happy to share my experience with this business with others.

Got the parma, and it was bad enough that I probably won't be back any time soon. $8.50 plus tax and tip for two slices of ham and some greasy cheese on less than 4" of baguette is absurd.

Downtown Dwellings

Boulevard is a staple downtown and we are so thankful you're here! We enjoy lunches and grabbing snacks or necessities for the weekend on our trips around the neighborhood. We celebrate every occasion with that fantastic chocolate cake and find as many excuses to walk through your doors as possible! Thank you for providing wonderful lunches for us through the year and being a reliable place to order something to impress- and at such a value. Christina, you're a wonderful part of this community- thank you!

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would do it! The food is great! The atmosphere is cute..nice chill music happening, jewlery and thibgs for sale in one part of it, fresh bread in another area. The service though was phenomenal ? Both girls working yesterday whike I was in were top tier in conversation and helping me with what u should get. I also watched, "Bek," conversate with every single customer who walked through the door. Definitely will be back again.

Needed coffee and pastry for meetings. They were the only place to answer my call. They had the large coffee containers and tons of pastry options. Everyone loved it, I highly recommend.

Favorite lunch spot in SOMA. Nice people. Food is ok. If you order soup, expect flavorful broth with little of substance in it.

Ordered a pastrami sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich was very good. The type of sandwich, if I lived nearby, would be a weekly treat. Coffee was fresh. Their bakery is in the back, and I couldn't resist getting a baguette. A little chewy and very soft on the inside, so good. Personally, I prefer my bread to be crispy with a little char. Don't get me wrong, I would still gladly grab another baguette from here. Nice little place. Very friendly and helpful staff. If I lived nearby, I would be a regular.

Really good, reliable, local spot for bread, pastries, caffeine, and sandwiches. The porchetta sandwich is definitely my favorite as the ciabatta goes really well with the pork, which is a bit messy. Sometimes they put out day old loaves that you can buy at low prices. Service is great.
