Cantina Cinco De Mayo

Wow! We live in Deep South Texas where the Mexican food is authentic and awesome. I wasn’t expecting the quality of the food we received. The chili verde was the best I have EVER had. The pork was fresh! It tasted like the pork we have straight off our farm. It was that good! Our server was friendly and efficient. This is another place I’ve marked on my maps to stop at again when we travel back there again!

I have eaten here many, many times in the past. The last time we ate there I said it would be the last however, we ate there tonight and probably will not go back. They changed their salsa which is like more of a tomato sauce with no taste. They changed their corn meal which is dark brown and almost taste burnt. I had three birra tacos and three regular tacos and everything came out cold and soggy.

Our new go-to for Mexican cuisine.

I have been to the place a couple of times, and it is either hit or miss. This time, it was a big miss. There was a miscommunication between what I wanted and what I asked for. When I went in to tell them I was given the wrong item, the woman server at the front got an attitude and acted like she did not want to change and fix my order. The customer is always right no matter what. But this woman’s attitude was unwarranted and not necessary, and I will not be back.

This was my 2nd visit here. My first visit was great service and food. I told my friends about it and we all went there on a Sunday. The food was great but the service was not. I will definitely go back just hope the service is the same as my first visit and not the second visit.

Have eaten here many, many times. This last time was horrible, and we will only go back once more to see if it was a fluke. Normally good, but the food was unseasoned, and nearly every plate was substandard. Also, it was so hot we were all sweating before we got out. Not enjoyable at all.

My first time here and completely enjoyed it. A slow week night so service was very fast, the hostess was exceptionally cordial. Food came out sequenced nicely between appetizer and entree. Both were very nice! I will be back!

The best chicken fajita quesadilla, and the Camorones con pina is amazing! Nice sized portions! We love coming here and ordering takeout! Great guacamole too.
