I paid $20 for a salad with 3 shrimp, two cherry tomatoes, 5 cucumber slices and lettuce. The soup tasted like it was from a can with NO flavor. All food was lukewarm. It was $100 for a side salad, a cup of soup, a sandwich and app. Horrible. Horrible.

We had the pork chops and creole chicken and shrimp Every bite was delicious Too full for desert but took some spicy pecans for later Matthew was our waiter and was attentive and had a super sense of humor Wonderful dinner before enjoying a show at Robinson Center!

I do not recommend this restaurant. My wife and i were celebrating a late Valentines Day dinner on Saturday (2/17/24) and made reservations for 6:45. We spoke to the hostess around 6:40 pm and we were told that our table would be ready shortly and that we could wait in the lobby. 7:00 pm rolled around and the original hostess was not present. I noticed several tables were open and cleaned up, but no one bothered to seat us until we had to check again. (Other patrons had to do something similar) We were seated shortly after 7:00pm with no napkins/silverware and I did not see a waiter till 7:10 to order drinks. Once the drinks came back , we asked about the soup of the day and we would take another minute to look over the menu. Ten minutes later we ordered our entrees Potato Gnocchi with the soup of the day and the Burger with a cup of the gumbo. Our food was then delivered close to 7:50ish and the Grouper Entree was placed in front of my wife. After another ten minutes of waiting , the waiter informed us that our food was up next and that the runner made a mistake. That explanation made no sense as those plates were not delivered to any other tables and the tables that sat down directly before and after us all received their food about twenty minutes earlier. So the “mistake” was the order not being done correctly and I'm assuming they fibbed to avoid “comping” anything for their mistake. We received our final entrees close to 8:20 and it was clear my wife's plate had been rushed and that my burger was cold, because it was the same one that came out prior to the mistake. We finally got to leave close to 8:40ish and our evening plans had effectively been ruined for our after dinner activities. If you want to wait over an hour to get a $20 cheeseburger and a $13 cup of average Gumbo - this should be your place. Very disappointed as I used to have fond memories of eating at this restaurant. Very disappointed that

My daughter and I enjoyed a very nice dinner before going to see Swan Lake. I started with the crab cake appetizer and an Old Fashioned. Then I had the pimento cheese sandwich as my meal and finished with the strawberry cheesecake and another Old Fashioned. Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat. Good food, good drinks and good service! I always enjoy the Capital Bar and Grill!

Everything was amazing! Made reservation before performance at Robinson. So glad I did! Many wandered into the bar without reservations and weren't able to get a table. Food was wonderful! Will definitely be back!

Great food and drink. Ambiance was fine. I feel like the wait staff was very busy as we had to wait quite a bit for them. Noisy level was rather high. Had a hard time conversing with spouse and we sat right next to one another

Ribeye was highly disappointing. I think it was a cheap piece of meat that was cooked to best of the chef's ability. I'm sure the chef was insulted when he saw the meat provided to him. Wife's salad was meh.

This place has been consistently great for at least 15 years. Dinner is excellent. But if you don't have time for dinner before a show at Robinson, postgame mixed drinks and snacks are worth a stop; so many good choices on the out of the ordinary but not weird drinks menu. For apps, get either the pimento cheese, the queso with brisket, or the spiced pecans. You'll be glad you did.

We ordered the crab cakes. When we got the plate there was only one crab cake. Had we been made aware of that we would've asked for a different appetizer to share between the 3 of us. During our meal we could hear two employees arguing at two different times. The burger that one of us ordered was dry and hard. Not worth the money it costs.

I’m not the most fond of the grouper(bit bland) however, I’ve tried other things that were great. The bar is top shelf and the atmosphere is great. Great location too.

One of the snazziest joints in town, and they know it. All of the food was excellent albeit pricey. Highlight for me was their cheese curds.

Whoa! Capital Bar has really gone downhill. Used to be my daughter's favorite restaurant. We ordered takeout, and they gave me a hard time about wanting pimento cheese on the cheeseburger. What? In the end, it didn't matter, the burgers were inedible. Seriously, we fed them to the dog. So disappointed. The fries were still up to par.

I went here on New Year's eve with my mom. Everything was excellent. Our server was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. We got a bottle of champagne which was good and presented/served well. My mom got a mule which she said wasn't very flavorful and a martini which was good. I got a cocktail with absinthe which was very good but I can't remember the name. For food, we shared the caesar salad as an appetizer which was very good. I got the beef stroganoff as my entree which was very good. My mom got the rib eye steak (I think) which she said was very good. Overall great experience and a great place for a nice dinner.
