Though I remember when Park Plaza was built, it seems to have been there … forever. It's a fixture for many people living in the Hillcrest and Heights areas and the neighborhoods west of there along Markham. . . Our last visit to Park Plaza was on Black Friday a few days ago. We had guests from Germany staying with us, and they wanted to explore Black Friday sales — so we took them to Dillard's, the flagship store of Park Plaza, and a Little Rock-based company.. . As a Little Rock native, I was so deeply ashamed of how some of the staff at Dillard's behaved when our guests asked them if items in their area of the store were on sale that Black Friday. In both the women's and men's departments, some staff took the snooty attitude (ridiculous, when you consider it's Little Rock, Arkansas, for God's sake) and waved our German guests off to other departments that had sales, as if they were riff-raff.. . Because Dillard's is the dominant presence in Park Plaza, it needs to do something about this customer-unfriendly attitude of some of its staff. People come to Dillard's on Black Friday to spend money, and our German guests did just that. But the supercilious, rude treatment they received from two haughty men in the men's department and one haughty woman in the women's department did not help them turn loose of their euros turned to dollars
