Having moved from California to Arkansas, I was about 7. HB’s was the first bbq sandwich I ever ate, soon after they opened. I’d go with Dad to pick them up. I can still here Mr. Slaughter chopping up the meat in the back room. We’d drive home to eat them with sides that mom made. The juice soaked through the plain brown bag by the time we got there.
