Blue Cake Honey Pies at Bowman

The cake I ordered was very dry. When placing the order over the phone, I asked for the most moist flavored cake Blue Cake had. The young lady employee said the almond butter flavor was the most moist, so that was the flavor that I ordered. My son, who I got the cake for, nearly choke on his first bite because of how dry & chalky the cake tasted on the inside. We were very disappointed in the quality of the cake. We’ve purchased cakes from Blue Cake for years.

Excellent customer service !!! I ordered a heart cake for my 30th Birthday celebration over the weekend. Upon pick up it was perfect, however I was celebrating in Dallas and traveled with the cake by car. Once I arrived at my destination, my cake was completely ruined. I guess the buttercream had melted.

This was extremely disappointing, because I had been looking forward to having the cake at my birthday dinner. The next day I contacted the shop not really sure what I wanted, but mostly to just express my disappointment. After some conversation, I assume either the manager or the owner offered to make a new one for me that would be available for pickup on my actual birthday today on 2/10.

I provided pictures of the cake below, not only did it look amazing but it tasted great. I would highly recommend purchasing from this bakery. However, if you’re traveling especially if it’s a buttercream cake make sure to have some sort of cooler to avoid what happened to mine the first time. Thank you Blue Cakes

I placed an order for my wife's b-day on short notice and they told me they would do a "basic" design on a 2 tier cake. I showed up to pick it up and the cake made my draw drop. When my wife saw it she put her hands on both sides of her face and smiled from ear to ear. Absolutely amazing quality and service. I will use them again.

I shook the cupcake around inside the container, and the icing didn’t budge; needless to say, the $3 cupcake was definitely on the dryer side. It had the potential to be a good cupcake, but it was just a little too dry for me.

(I didn't refrigerate this cupcake either lol)

Purchased 4 different types of cupcakes for my 4 friends to celebrate a birthday. Each person said their icing was good but the cupcake was dry. Disappointing.

Thanks to Kendall, Quinton and Selena who created an absolutely beautiful and delicious three tier birthday cake for my mother in law’s 95th birthday party! The cake was the hit of the party. I couldn’t have been happier with the service and the quality of the cake. I strongly recommend Blue Cake for your next cake. Their petite fours are great too!

I ordered a custom cake to celebrate a very special occasion, and while the flavor was delicious, I was very disappointed with how it looked. I had a certain look in mind, and the design and colors I requested were not followed closely. The cake didn’t match the reference images at all (I included the reference images I sent, left for design, right for color pallette). They tried to fix it upon my request by adding more frosting but that didn't really help much and after 2 attempts they just put it in the box and said I was good to go...
For the price I paid, I expected both taste and presentation to be spot on.
If you're looking for taste alone or a very basic design, this place delivers, but if a specific look is important, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Came to Little Rock for work and goggled what Arkansas is known for food-wise, one thing that was consistent was Possum Pie, but I couldn't find any, until serendipity brought me to this bakery. Last day, my colleague had a sweet tooth and this was the closest. Popped over before our flight and came upon a cute bakery. Interior was welcoming, a few tables inside, one large one outside. Wide selection of large pies and cakes and their equivalent mini pies, including Possom Pie! Got a personal for myself, my colleague got the peach cobbler and we also got some caffeine to wash it down. The staff was friendly to chat with and we dined on our pies outside. They did not disappoint, very delicious, crust crispy, and the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely be coming back.

I got my mother a Coconut Cream pie for her birthday. She said it's the best CCP she's ever had! It was so good, we're coming back for a Pecan pie and a Chocolate pie for the holidays.

Very Disappointed….. Purchased a Custom Cake for my Wife’s Birthday. The design was beautiful and she loved it but the cake was really really Dry.
Nobody at the Birthday gathering seemed to enjoy the cake and I did over hear some people mention it was dry and had no taste. Good thing I bought an extra Cake from Sam's Club which everyone seemed to enjoy more.
The decoration was beautiful but the cake itself wasn’t the best.

I was extremely unsatisfied with the custom cake I ordered for my birthday. I had a positive experience with your bakery last year when I ordered a cake for my boyfriend, which is why I was surprised to be so underwhelmed this time.

Despite providing detailed reference photos and instructions via email, the final design of the cake did not meet my expectations. The cake’s design lacked the effort and attention to detail I anticipated, especially considering the nearly $200 I spent. Additionally, the customer service I received was not satisfactory. When I called to make a deposit and discuss more details about the cake, I was asked to pay immediately without discussing the design or flavor, as these details had not been addressed in our communication prior.

I understand that costs for labor and materials can be high, but the minimal effort put into the cake’s design and the poor customer service have led to my decision not to return in the future.

I hope this feedback helps improve your service for future customers.

" So sorry for your experience. We go above and beyond on every cake and when we address problems with a cake. We did not feel like we did the cake incorrectly. We offered to add items to address your concerns but you could not specify what you wanted and how the cake was different than the picture you provided. When an individual calls to ask about a cake for a specific date that is coming up quickly yet has no idea on design we always recommend a 50.00 deposit to hold the date which is what you were advised. Im sorry we didn't meet expectations on this cake. We take all orders seriously and we take all complaints seriously. I'm sorry we couldn't figure out how best to help you based on our conversations with you. "

This response is almost laughable because no questions were really asked when I called in to put down a deposit. I had to be the one to say " hey what about flavor and etc." That's when we discussed details. No questions were asked like " how closely do you want it to resemble the photos"

Yall didn't offer to add details because if you did I would have specified even further. Hence me saying in my original post that I had to be the one to bring it up over ther phone. On your website yall advise that you call 3-2 weeks prior which I did. I also asked via email is this enough time for yall to do the cake and yall said yes.

Your response just goes to show how unprofessional yall are. Do not lie about a conversation you did not have, because the details are skewed. I am not one to normally even say something or be confrontational but what yall did is wrong. Let this be a warning to those who are looking to order custom cakes from here.
