The service was top tier, however the food was not very good. The servers and hostess were so nice and created a very welcoming environment.

My only complaint is that the service was sloooooowwww. Our server was GOOD, the restaurant just appeared to be very short on staff that night. There were other diners but the restaurant wasn't packed or anything and we were there for a solid two hours (party of two). I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt as I honestly believe that it was just an off night, because the food was VERY good.Dietary restrictions: Great for Gluten Free folks!

nice Japanese restaurant. Food and service both very good. We were seated in a bar area which was a little disappointing, but overall a pleasant evening.

The bartender David made the experience great! He was waiter and bartender. Whatever we needed, he made sure to accommodate and even made great suggestions for food and drink pairings. Great experience, I will be back!

First time here at Kemuri, and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service is on point. Our server, Daniel, was attentive and humorous without being in the way. And he gave good suggestions for cocktails. The calamari was better than you usually find in the local restaurants. It was lightly fried and delicious. You actually taste the squid instead of the breading, and it was tender rather than tough and chewy. The sushi rolls were tremendous, although it did take a while to get them to our table. In defense of the chefs, though, they were overwhelmed with a HUGE takeout order called in just before we ordered. We had the Mango Tango Roll and the Mason's Roll. We will definitely return here for our next sushi dinner.

Parking was a bit difficult to find on a Saturday evening. Staff friendly. Large selection of appetizers, Robata, sushi and mains. They have some interesting, but good cocktails. Red dragon sushi was full of flavor. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon were ok, but not the best. Yellowtail tuna appetizer very good and mushroom robata was as well. Server was good and knowledgeable. Would recommend. Prices reasonable for a nice restaurant

The title of best sushi place in town tends to move around. Just when I think I've found it, I have several experiences that make me change my mind. But , with that in mind, I think this is the best sushi place in town currently. It was a good atmosphere, and the server was exceptionally good (though he was also tending bar, so his focus was a little split and a little slow to fill drinks, so I took a star for that), and the sushi was excellent. Some places you go, if you don't have the soy and wasabi, you don't really want the sushi. Or maybe the contents are too loose and fall apart, or the fish is almost soggy. None of these are the case here. I always try without the soy sauce first, and each of the four roles totally stood on their own with proper flavor and held together with and had excellent mouth feel.A note for those that do use soy: they don't have soy sauce here. They have Tamari. If you look it up, you'll be tempted to think that it's just gluten free soy sauce, and you'd be a little right, but mostly wrong. It has a much stronger and richer flavor, with less of that soy salt. But be warned: a little dab will do you. If you're going to use it, just dap the corner of your roll in it. It's delicious, but it's potent.I will also not that it's a bit pricey as well. We got two basic roles (10ish) and two mid range specialty rolls (20ish), and we came to a little over sixty dollars before tip. But that's not outside the range of what I expect for sushi today. Just know that going in.All told, it was a fun place with excellent food, and I recommend it.

Kemuri was mid at best. For two people, the total came out to be over 80 dollars. I think they tried to pose themselves as a mid to high class restaurant but the food really falls short. It gives me the impression of that old statement "if you have good quality xyz, then you don't need a lot of seasoning", but the food quality at Kemuri was average and also unseasoned, so a double whammy (especially for the price tag). We also had an odd experience with our waiter where he maybe had 3 small tables to wait on in his section but gave my husband and I the impression that he was trying to rush us out. He was relatively anti-social with us and also started bussing our table, fully, while we were still seated and chatting. The nicest people there was the woman working the front and at one point a manager (or whom I assume to be one) directing me to the restroom. Overall, we are unlikely to come back as there are places with the same quality food but much better service.

Worst sushi ever! Ordered spicy salmon roll. So chewy I just gave up after the third piece. Tried my husband's tuna roll which was bland. The only taste it had was the cobmo soy& wasabi I dipped it in. Left hungry.

Amazing food, service and experience. The servers are so friendly and attentive. Drinks and food were amazing. Every sushi roll is wonderful and so are the ramen and fried rice dishes. Great place to take friends or family or a cozy date night. Convenient location and better parking than the hillcrest location which is nice.Vegetarian options: A lot of the dishes are available without meat such as fried rice, drunken noodles, ramen bowl, and miso bowl. Fresh veggies!
