Today 11/16/2025 My husband and I ate here for the very first time we found out about this place from a relative who lived in Little rock and the food was amazing really down home cooked soul food. Staff was helpful being it was our first time they answered all my questions about how to order the food. We spent 29.00 for two ppl but the plates were full and satisfying whenever I go back to Little Rock this will definitely be our go to!!!
Food not as good as it used to be

Yall we used to come here all the time back in the day but it has gone to crap. I came in there and ordered 2 plates. The young lady on the sides was VERY rude and disrespectful. It had been years since I step foot inside so I was browsing to see which meat I wanted. It wasn’t a line so nobody was waiting behind me besides the woman who came with me. They brought fresh baked chicken out so I ordered that for one and fried for my son. As I’m trying to tell the lady I want dark for my baked the young lady that is getting the sides asks rudely ,”what sides you want”…in the middle of me talking to the lady grabbing meats. Then proceeds to say” this ain’t her plate”?Before I could even speak.. I said yes it Is my plate but I was trying to let her know what I wanted on my second. She walked off and said she wasn’t serving my food. The others just stood there and one moved over to do my sides as if this is normal for her. If I was just as rude of a person I woulda left those plates half done and kept my money. The young man at the register was nice and I appreciate him for finishing my order. I’ve never wrote a bad review but that right there took it for me. I’m also MANAGEMENT in a food establishment aswell, my workers would never be rude to a paying customer like that or RUSHING them when you see they are buying multiple plates. Especially if my food looked as dry as that. I’ve never a day in my life had macaroni that had so much salt in it that me nor my son could eat it and all he had was chicken and double Mac…so that says enough. Both of our plates went to the trash. I will never step foot back in that establishment again. It needs to be shut down at this point. I would rather DRIVE to North Little Rock for REAL food that is always good with genuinely NICE people at Magnolia Skillet off broadway, Certified Pies, Utopia Deli, Andy’s …anywhere BUT there. I love my people and support black businesses on a daily but chile they won’t get 2 cents outta me again coulda went to Kj&Treats, Simpkins, Kools, or SIMS and got better than that slop!

I came here with some others I told them NO but they insisted. Nothing was good
Find somewhere else to eat, you’ve been warned.
Food is cold and nasty. No love at all put into this food.
And the service is not that great, they act like employees who don’t want to be there.

The fried catfish was excellent. Perfect balance of seasoning. Sharks should take lessons.

I came here wanting to support a Black-owned business and left completely disappointed. We were craving soul food and chose this spot specifically because it was Black-owned — we passed up other options for that reason. Worst decision we could’ve made.
The service was absolutely horrible. I don’t know who the young lady was working the front, but she had the worst attitude I’ve experienced in a long time — and yes, she was even rude to my elderly grandmother. No hospitality, no manners, no effort. Just pure rudeness from the second we walked in.
The food didn’t even get a fair chance, because by the time we sat down, the bad taste in my mouth had nothing to do with what was on the plate.
It’s sad to say, but this is exactly the kind of experience that gives Black-owned businesses a bad name. We want to support our own — but not at the expense of basic customer service and respect. If this is your first time trying soul food, PLEASE go somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Visited kitchen express and ordered baked chicken, collard greens, yams, cornbread and peach cobbler. The greens were absolutely too salty. All I tasted was vinegar and salt. So nasty and possibly from a can. The baked chicken was ok but needed a little more seasoning. The yams were ok. A little too sweet for my taste buds. The cornbread was a little dry. The best thing was the crust on the peach cobbler. Hats off to whoever makes the cobbler. If I ever go back, it would only be for cobbler. Service was horrible. It took 30 minutes to get through the line. It was a little chaotic. The lady that checked me out did not say one word to me. I may not even go back for the cobbler considering customer service was horrible. I will say the young lady and man making the plates were doing their best, but it could be better organized. I paid almost $18 and most of it was inedible.
