They’re never open. Don’t even sale torte bowls and cupcakes anymore on hand. Don’t even have a phone number for the new location just a email lol the people who owned them before did a bad move letting these new people take over. When they were on Rodney parham I went there daily like 5 or more years ago. Now I don’t even recommend them to people

Went to the NLR location multiple times as I wanted a cake for a party. Told to come back and they would have samples ready. Waited over an hour and the other person who was supposed to have samples did not show up. Others were also waiting on their cakes longer. The older lady was there trying to convince people to let them deliver although they were clearly already behind. Told me she would call and took my number down and I never heard from them. So unprofessional. U charge too much to be so unprofessional and your designs are not good quality lately. I’m glad I saw how u were doing people who already paid and I took my business to someone more professional.

Mickey’s Cakes Completely Failed us.
I’d ordered and PAID IN FULL for a 3 layer custom birthday cake a month in advance. I also paid to have it delivered. I used Mickey’s because I’d had her cakes before and they’re always delicious. She makes big, elaborate wedding cakes and delivers those so of course she could handle our 3 tier birthday cake for 65 people.
The week of our event, I was going down our list and contacting everyone we were using: The venue; the caterer; the cake. Our cake was scheduled to be delivered at 3:00 for a 6:00 party. Because we were having very hot weather, I was asked if delivery could be moved to as late as possible, to keep the cake in good condition. We agreed that 5:00 would be fine.
But at 5:30, we still had no cake. The table where it was to go was ready. We were told to order a special centerpiece if we wanted something really personal and specific. So the purchased centerpiece sat, along with the also purchased cake plates, waiting for the cake.
At 5:30pm I called Mickey’s to ask about the cake. “Oh, she’s on her way. She should be there any minute!” I was told. She never showed up.
The guest of honor arrived at almost half past 6 and calls to Mickey’s went straight to voice mail.
At 7:30 I got a call from Mickey’s. “The cake was just melting in this heat.” I was told. ( If you’re in the business of delivering wedding cakes, don’t you have a refrigerated vehicle? Or a compartment to handle this?) “It was sliding so much that she went BACK to the shop to try and fix it. But in doing so, the bottom layer broke apart and couldn’t be saved. We DO want you to have SOME cake for the birthday, so we’re on our way back with the top 2 layers.” I didn’t want a partial cake, but she convinced me that at least 2 layers would have some cake available to guests.
The venue had an employee then waiting outside to hurry the cake in once it arrived. He stood outside waiting for an hour! No one showed up. No cake, no calls, just more of nothing.
And the following day, no calls, no explanations, no offers for a replacement. Just NOTHING.
If you are a bakery that is in the business of delivering expensive, fancy, special-events cakes....how does this happen?
Yes, I’m angry. I’m still angry as it’s 3 days after our event and I can STILL not get ahold of anyone. Nor have they tried to contact me.

I have ordered two kids' birthday cakes now from Mickey's in 2024. I used to purchase cakes elsewhere that if I'm being honest were significantly cheaper, however, I am so glad I found Mickey's! The cakes might be more than my previous place but they taste and look AMAZING! With both cakes I have had friends and family come up and ask where the cakes were from and that they are delicious! I have been in communication with Sandra for both orders and she has been patient and professional with my questions in person, over the phone, and email. I've shown photos to Mickey's prior to ordering on what I would like the cakes to look like and they have not disappointed with the end results! They don't look exactly like the photos but very close and even better. Always in awe when I have picked up the cakes. I recommend Mickey's for all your cake needs and will definitely use them again in the future!

This is not Mickey's best work and for the price, it should have been better this came from the new location on JFK and I tried calling no answer he turned 8 and he noticed he had 9 balloons

Great, delicious cakes and tortes bowls!!! My husband Chaz and I loooove coming here! We looove the white cake and white icing tortes, add some milk and we are ALWAYS in heaven!! This was our go to place for our special wedding day 11 years ago, as well as birthdays, baby showers, other special occasions and even as a quick pick me up or treat during the week on his and my days off.

I know it's late but getting ready to do my son party for tomorrow I've been busy. I also wanted to go back as far as I could with the quality of previous cakes I've orders with Mickeys over the years!! The precision was on point. I've been a loyal customer of the name of this company as early as 2005 my son Clayton 1st bday cake & for 10 solid years, from Huron lane to Rodney parham. I'm not pleased with this cake at all as far as looks!! I've been known as the mother who made sure the cake was top notch, cost wasn't a limit! I've spent as much as 300 for a batman chocolate car cake! Wish I can find that picture details and etc was on point! The attachments of the paw patrol cake is an example of the entire head being covered with fondant with RICE KRISPY as the base! As well as the Black panther cake!! What I ordered and what I received is a disappointment simply based on appearance. 1: The Rubic cube has multiple sides that was not placed with all colors with fondant 2: It was discussed for it to be EDIBLE with rice Krispy and yes ma'am it can be done and not over weight the cakes unless the baker can't step to those standards. 3: All imaged were supposed to be fondant designed not edible print off's that's of its edible based off other reviews I've read just this morning 6/9/2024 that wasn't even precision cut!! This is so embarrassing cause we don't bring cakes to the parties looking like this. 4: you can see the white foam showing through the black fondant. This mess seems to be a rush job! All that I wanted to be done I expected the price to be over 200, so I guess I get what I was quoted less than 140 with cupcakes included had a red flag from jump and I told my mom when I left that I hope the quality is good cause that price was very low and I see why cause the quality isn't there. I can honestly admit I won't be back, I enjoyed the energy of the people I encountered but someone needs to go to bakery school to keep the quality of the name Mickeys intact & on point!! Customer service wise 3 stars, work quality I don't even want to rate it. It was nice meeting you all, but I can't return for work like this. I was wondering how was fondant images was gone be applied on a cake that was buttercream icing, versus fondant on fondant. The pac man was supposed to be more detailed. I'm simply disappointed. Like i low key want my money back, but this email will go on Google review, ONLY cause us loyal mickeys customers should know what we stepping into!! This is a courtesy email, I should of known when you said yall had no pics of yall work & thru out "outdated" cake book that the brand had for years!! Y'all be blessed & I pray that whomever did this work to go take bakery design class or schooling. This is the email I sent the new owners. I personally won't be back and I did add the photos on Google reviews showing the lackness in the detailed work!! I strongly suggest changing the name due to the quality of work not lining up to the Mickeys I've dealt with many times over 20 yrs off & on and they never disappoint!! I don't know how to upload the photos under this post, but I've been a loyal, very pleased customer since the years they were located off Huron lane and off Rodney parham!! Buying the name and not stepping to the quality the brand has had over many years is crazy. 3 star for the customer service in politeness but overall I'm disappointed! The precision of my cake is whack. I was in disbelief when I snapped a photo while still in the bakery and one thing I noticed in after thought I was never given a copy of what we discussed and also Mickeys never made you pay in full upfront, it was always a half deposit of cake amount maybe even less than that!! The cake was delicious. However, I really hope they get thier timing together. They told me it would be ready at a certain time but I ended up waiting about an hour after the appointed time. They are probably short staffed, but knowing this I would have appreciated them notifying me to come an hour later. Anyway, they are in NLR now. I hope they keep up the quality!

This business uses boxed cake mixes even though they charge for “high end” cakes. Their decorators have been to culinary school and being paid 12$ an hour with no break whilst being harassed. They have fired workers due to “inexplicable externship” while pursuing a degree while claiming interns did not disclose availability when they clearly have.

Previously used mickeys when they were at the old location and had two fabulous experiences and they nailed the design. But since they moved I am not sure what happened. This past week I ordered a cake, sent the pictures of what was expected and the cake design was no where near the submitted design. I paid way too much money for the quality that was received as it pertains to the design. The first photo is what was requested in addition to the blue star on the cake. - the second photo is what was received. The star wasn’t even. Nice ladies but the quality of the work is no longer there.

I loved my birthday cake and the flavors were amazing!! This was my first time ordering and they were all so sweet. I will definitely be back!! The cake literally melt in your mouth, everyone loved it. Thank you guys so much!
