I’m extremely disappointed with my experience today at the Mighty Crab on Shackleford.
I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have always stood by this location for its clean dining area and great service. But today changed everything.
I stopped by after leaving the library to pass some time since our electricity is still out due to the storms. I ordered ½ lb of black mussels to-go. When I got back to my car to eat and decompress, I opened the container and saw a clump of hair attached to one of the mussels. Not a strand—an actual clump. So I pulled it out and started looking at the others. And sure enough there were more!!!!
Shocked and disgusted, I immediately took it back inside. I was asked if I wanted it remade. Of course I did—I’m not eating that?! But moments later, the server returned and said the kitchen was refusing to remake it, claiming it was “natural.”
Absolutely not. Mussels are supposed to be properly purged and the “beards” removed during cleaning. What I received was clearly uncleaned and not safe for consumption. After doing my research, I confirmed what I already suspected: I was served uncleaned mussels, and that “hair” was something that should’ve never made it to my plate.
Even the staff at the counter seemed surprised—and to think, I had even given them an extra tip before checking the food.
I requested and received a refund, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth (and not from the food). I’ve never seen anything like this in all the years I’ve supported this location (or any others for that matter).
Mussels that aren’t properly cleaned can cause serious health issues. And being told “that’s natural” as a justification is unacceptable.
Do better, Mighty Crab.

Spent $237.xx on 5 people which was nbd but the food was awful. The king crab was overcooked to the point my son got one crab leg worth of meat (literally) on his bday not to mention. The Mac and cheese was undercooked and bland with no taste. The fried fish was nasty and burnt. And don’t get me started on the waitress. She walked around like she was better than everyone and couldn’t be bothered to give refills or even bring hot sauce. She visited our table once after ordering. Just sad. We will never return to this restaurant. And when e told the manager she said she would talk to her and then laughed as we walked out. Just awful.

$150, plastic forks, no knifes, not even plastic knives! Salty food, my wife wanted garlic butter only, but the meal arrived with all spiced marinade. Most of our meals were thrown in the trash. Staff were slow and non attentive. When my wife explained her displeasure with the meal, our waitress basically disappeared until it was time for payment. We will never return.

I've been coming to/ordering from this location for yearrrrsssss. I've never had an issue until tonight. My waitress was Jisaiah & she is the reason why I'll never return. Jisaiah's service was incredibly slow & her customer service skills were subpar. (And that's me being nice about it) However, it was solely towards me & my child. Jisaiah was A-ok with other guests. I ordered $90 worth of food & didn't eat any of it, nor take it home. Jisaiah's attitude quite literally ruined my appetite & my kid's birthday dinner, so I left before the situation inevitably escalated. (#growth) I'm beyond pissed. I know management won't do a thing, so tread carefully if you choose to dine-in.

My wife and I went to Mighty Crad on Shackleford road in Little Rock, Arkansas on 12/21/2024 to grab a bite to eat. We did not like the way the staff was so unprofessional at doing their jobs. My wife and I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes for someone to come and ask us if we wanted a table or booth, we asked for booth so the waitress who we thought was the hostess told us that as soon as the busboy clean the booth off that she will seat us there. My wife and I waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to come back to seat us but she never returned, so we seated ourselves where she told us where we will be sitting. 10 to 15 minutes passed by and finally the hostess came to our table and asked us is it just the two of you dining, we said yes and he left. 10 to 15 more minutes past and no one came to the table to take our order or ask what will we be drinking. Finally my wife had to stop one of the waitresses and tell her that we had been sitting here for about 15 minutes and no one has stopped to take our order or ask us anything, the waitress said since you didn't wait for someone to seat you that you don't have a server to take your order. My wife and I talked to the waitress that was supposed to seat us and she really didn't have anything to say and we talked to the hostess and the only thing he could say is that we were supposed to have waited to be seated by him. My wife and I will not be eating at this restaurant ever again.

Today is December 21, 2024 the time is 2:50 pm and we just had to leave Mighty Crab in Little Rock on Shackleford because of a very horrible and disrespectful interaction with the staff working there right now. We were treated very disrespectfully and because of this interaction we will not visit this establishment every again. We were disrespected, disregarded and mistreated. The workers there really have not be trained properly on customer care, customer resolutions, effective communication with fellow staff members or with customers, appropriate speech and interaction protocols with customers. The wait was too long, the staff was not concerned for myself or my family and when we tried to explain or get an understanding of the situation at hand we were met with contemp, reprimand and mockery. There is a one star rating on this review only because to leave a review u have to select at least one star, I really would like to leave a negative notation or a no star rating.
The food was amazing! We had the Tuesday specials with garlic butter. So good! Perfectly cooked! And, Keke, our server, was amazing. Super sweet, knowledgeable, and funny! We will definitely be back!

O M G! What an awesome restaurant! The food was gloriously prepared and tasted amazing! Shrimp and scallops, potatoes, and corn for me, and snow crab, potatoes, and corn for my friend! Service from Keke was just perfect! Smiles and politeness flowed from her! If you haven't tried The Mighty Crab yet, do so soon! And, if it's been a while, get back in there! You will be glad you did!
