It's a good Mexican restaurant but I feel La Villa's beats em by a hair. Especially via speed of service and seasoning of food.

Pleasantly surprised at quality of food and drink. Had "Alambre al pastor" it is grilled pork with peppers and onions smothered in cheese. Amazing. Ask for side of grilled pineapple... great guac, pico salad, rice and beans. Lunch portion was not chunky. Wife had a fried chicken dish. It was breaded with catfish-style cornmeal breading. Had some of the best homestyle fries we've ever had. Solidly tasty Margarita and excellent Horchata (Rice and almond drink)... Made from scratch, not a powery mix like at most Mexican restaurants. Service was friendly. Building was well maintained, nice murals on walls, clean. Clean restrooms.

This was the second time we stopped at Papa's Mexican Cafe while traveling through Mena. This little place is a jewel. It has been immaculate both times especially the rest rooms. The food is plentiful and delicious. I had the lunch special #3 which was a chicken breast with cheese on it. I added mushrooms. It came with guac, sour cream, beans, tortillas, pico and rice. My husband got the chimichanga. It also came with all the stuff mine came with. Without drinks or tax it was $18. The staff was very friendly. We will stop again when we come through again.

The cooks are looking at you and judging you as you walk in. Looks like they are debating whether to add there personal ingredients according to how you look. Made me and the family very uncomfortable. They have no business looking at the customers as they walk in they get payed to cook.
