We had visited Petit Jean Mountain area, and our friends who live in the area suggested we eat at Mathers. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and my margarita was excellent. We were looking forward to the Possum Pie, but unfortunately, the baker was just starting to prepare them when we were there. It's about a 4 hour process. However, before we left, our server, Brad managed to bring us a bowl of the Possum Pie filling. We will be going back next time we are in...
Our sunset view from the table was beautiful. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and kind. I had hot water cornbread and purple whole peas, and I’ve had plenty of beans and cornbread in my life. BUT, these were the best purple whole pease I’ve ever had. I could have eaten a whole pot. Amazing.
I highly recommend Mather Lodge Restaurant. The staff were nice, the food was hot & fresh with plenty to share and the atmosphere was very nice & relaxing with great views. We went during lunch, and will definitely plan to go again to try the breakfast.
