El Chico Cafe

Food was kind of weird. Got a shrimp quesadilla for my son and it was brown with a red sauce and was shaped almost like a burrito but chopped up in pieces. He wouldn't eat it. We didn't care for the food either. I believe the chef may have been trying to improve on the way it generally is served but failed on some of it. Sometimes the best way is the simplest way.

Best Tex Mex burrito in Mountain Home. Fajita very good except too hot. Beans were boiling. Platter smokey.

It was our first time there, there were three of us. The menu was so-so. Our server was nice but not on her game. Our food took for forever to arrive and it wasn't worth the wait! We all had the same thing, not rocket science. With MAYBE 10 other people on the restaurant it took almost an hour to get our food, which tasted like a frozen meal. With the cost of everything these days, it was $60+ wasted and we didn't even order alcohol, just tea and soda! We won't go back. Worst place we have been to in a very long time, and your advert of fine dining on your FB page is way off and there was no atmosphere just aggravation.

The food does not have a rich flavor, and the cheese they use is yellow, sanguich, horrible.

I've been here several times in the past 10 years, and it's always an excellent experience. The food is great and affordable, the staff are friendly, humorous, and attentive (if you go on a slow day they'll be popping up every five minutes asking how your meal is, lol!), and the place overall has a nice chill vibe. They usually play modern pop-y music for the ambience so if you're not a fan you may be off-put but everything else is worth conflicting music taste, trust me.
