9/01/24- the hostess that seated me was so quiet I couldn't hear half of what she said. My server was one of these younger people that had little to no personality. There's literally no eye contact. I would much rather have an older server that has personality. The food was bland. The steak was full of gristle. People waited at the entrance to be seated and finally left after no attention was paid to them. The young woman working the cash register seemed to be irritated when people approached her to pay for their meal(s). I probably wouldn't come back. And I recommend you make a family section and a more "grown up" section. The children were loud, rude, and their manners were atrocious

Hole in the wall in a strip mall. Good food great staff and nice atmosphere. Had breakfast and it was done right. The place was busy and the staff was right on top of it. My breakfast came cooked to perfection and was well portioned. I will go again and will recommend to others.

First time there last time there .. the woman Add to cash register and the waitress could not even say. Good morning, they said, sit over there or sit over there. There's only two of us working so be patient Wouldn't even give us a menu.. Both of them had attitudes we'll never go back

I'm very disappointed this visit. Only thing good about this visit was my waitress. The Scatter used to be huge but, this time was on a smaller plate and barely covered the middle of it! Ordered my eggs over-hard and got a... not sure what... instead and I did not get many Hash browns either! Bummed! - I would have sent the meal back but, I did not believe that it would have been any better.
On a side note... service was good as usual - the servers were very attentive - I have never had any issues with their food except today (I only eat Breakfast here so I do not know about other meals). The Cook today had no idea what he was doing! How do you screw up an "over-anything" egg?
Parking: Small parking spaces but, plenty of them. Handicap parking is limited and not very close to diner.

Always a solid breakfast. Cooks were willing to knock out 8 breakfast burritos to go for some sales training
When in Mountain Home, be sure to stop at Mel's Diner for breakfast. Casual Diner atmosphere; excellent service; classic Diner menu with some twists. Your food will come out quickly, your coffee will never get cold! The biscuits and gravy are perfect!
We have eaten here three separate times and the service has been excellent every time. Have not experienced the service issues appearing in some reviews. Spoke with a waitress who informed that, when the restaurant is busy, they post wait times on the board right inside the door.

10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a good breakfast! Their service was awesome. Everyone was very friendly. No drinks were left empty and the food was HOT. The Denver omlete and potatoes o'brien were very good. Not a long wait at all. Our baby really loved the French Toast and sausage links! Hash browns were crispy. I want more. We will definitely be coming back.
