I had the catfish plate. Very tasty. Pleasant atmosphere and experience, affordable. The reflective exterior was a bit much.
No idea how this place has good reviews. We are in town for a few days and the place we originally planned to eat was closed on Monday so we pulled in here. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered catfish and fixins. The taste of old grease was profound. I stopped at 1 piece. Fries and slaw were not good either. Worst part is, we drove away and got back to our cabin and I puked everything up. Again, the waitress was great. Would not recommend going here.

The fish tasted like bacon grease, when I told the waitress that she told me that the fish and bacon were cooked in the same fried. I wasn’t aware that bacon is deep fried.
I feel like we should have gotten different fish but her offer was we could have breakfast. I didn’t want breakfast I wanted fish that I normally get at your restaurant.

Probably the worst breakfast I have ever had in Mtn Home! Sausage was tasteless, gravy out of a mix. Biscuits definitely off of the truck and they weren’t good .
Our breakfast food was good. Service was good. The restaurant was extremely busy so the parking lot was limited but we found a parking spot behind the building, quite a distance from the front door. It was crowded but our food arrived in a timely manner. The cash register & kitchen are located just inside the front door so diners and waiters are all entering & exiting through the narrow entryway at the same time & it is often very crowded. We have eaten lunch at Skipper's several times & particularly like their fried catfish. Lunch is extremely crowded but definitely worth the effort. Prices are a good value for the generous portions.
Nice little mom and pop breakfast/lunch diner. There biscuits and gravy is tasty.

Everything was fantastic except only one pack of tarter sauce for 3 fish sandwiches was not ideal. Thankfully they sent 1 cup of lemons. We waited like 20 minutes longer than expected but it happens. Staff said they were short staffed. Other than that for out of towners, the food was GREAT.
Vegetarian options: Sweet Potato Fries!!!!! Real Blackened fish.
