Gosh, I wish I had as pleasant of a time as the other reviews had.
You walked into a very packed place which is understandable if they have as good of food as I’ve heard.
But you spot the only table left open so you walk over to it since they clearly don’t greet you or recommend a place to sit with how busy it is.
And as you get over to the ONLY empty and clean table you start getting screamed at to “go down!” “Go down!” “No room for u up here!”
I don’t do well with getting screamed at in busy places so we left.
And that’s so sad because me and my family was ready to have breakfast at a dinner we heard good thangs about as a family, But it wasn’t even pleasant getting in the door so why would we stay?
Over all I wish they would have used a calmer tone and said I’m sorry there’s no room up here let me show you a table available instead of shewing us out of the area.

I would not recommend this dinner if it is a busy day.

As I read more comments i have now decided to add the fact that this little old Mexican lady seems to be the source of all bad reviews from being rude to stealing money from people and she was the source of what happened to us.
That is pretty sad to see.
And we all know based on how the other comments were left a while ago she will not be dealt with.

Love the breakfast, it was homemade cooking, and the atmosphere was friendly, a little bit of a wait to make your order but that is understandable becasue it was busy. The food came hot and the was a plus for us. I would definitely have breakfast here again if I pass that way ?

My family is in town. We wanted to have a late breakfast, or early lunch. I had the Catfish, coleslaw and French Fries, and YUM! I WILL be back! The waitress was sweet and helpful, and despite the crowd, worked quickly and efficiently.

The food was so so, nothing to write home about. The service was less than desirable. One waitress seemed pleased to have us from being out of town, but our 1st visit this establishment even though we frequent Mountain Home on a regular basis. However, the older short-haired lady was very opinionated, rude, even making comment that she can "smell" out of towners. What little does this little older lady know is that my husband and I have quite a lot of fruends in Mountain Home and know quite a lot of local people as well. The comment the older, short-haired lady made was very offensive across the board. We people want to be treated with respect across the board no matter if you are local or not. My question to her is, how would you feel if you visited my business and we are conversating and I tell you, "I can smell when people are from the United States?" I guarantee you, you would be offended and most likely say I was being racist! Your customers service skills are lacking in several areas! I just hope and pray that this post is a true eye-opener for you and you learn from this!

I am appalled at the treatment I just received coming here. I called ahead of time, asked them if I could place a order and PICK IT UP, because I have a dog with me, told them I could come in and pick it up, just not eat in because of my dog.

They told me sure, we can do that. I ordered my food for me and my puppers, and then asked them about how long it would be before the food was ready.

They told me they could bring it out to me, asked my car make and color.

When the lady brought out the food, she asked for my card, which I gave. About 5 minutes later she came back out and said she hadn’t ran it yet because they wanted to know if I wanted to leave a tip. I told her I really couldn’t afford to (because I was on SSI and I had just spent a large amount of money on my dog that had to go to the vet twice in the last 3 days because of medical problems) but the lady just snapped at me saying she was on SSI too and that was no excuse to not tip, then proceeded to tell me not to come back OR eat out if I was on SSI! I asked to speak to her manager.

Her manager was even worse, and more rude. She told me I was not a decent person and I should not be eating out ANYWHERE if I can’t tip. I told her I ordered the meal for me and my dog which was over $11, and I said I would come in to pick it up when it was done, but the lady who took my order said she would bring it out to my car and asked me what it was/looked like.

She called me a liar and said I “made it seem” like I expected them to cater to me. I never said I would not come in to pick it up!

She then proceeded to tell me the same thing - not to eat out on SSI so basically, my dog has been having a REALLY hard time the last few days, she’s been ill, sick, wanted to do something to get her to perk up a bit, and I’m not allowed according to these 2 women, to take my dog out and order food, if I don’t TIP, because I’m on SSI?

This is discrimination at its core.

Then she told me never come back there again.

What is wrong with society nowadays?

I wasn’t aware it’s mandatory now to tip when you order food and go to pick it up.

Thanks for that nice reality check.

Walked in around 8 am. Not too busy. Was seated immediately. Asking about biscuits and gravy, this is the first place that has peppermill gravy in this area. Gravy is really good. It's really good. Pancake was so so. Veggie omelet is imo, soggy, but black olives made it tasty. They are slow to top off coffee. But the atmosphere is COZY.

The food was okay.
The server was a sweetheart and did her best.
The woman who runs the register lacks a lot in personality . Not a people person.
Doubt we will be back.
