We did the drive thru. My companion had the catfish and I decided to have the gumbo. It’s the best I’ve had outside of someone’s kitchen! It was so authentic, right down to the okra! BUT NO SLIME! It was very well prepared.

The lady forgot my fries when I called and told her hey I live way over In Watson Chaple area in. I’m not driving back to Harding. She’s going to offer to write your name down and offer you a drink. I’m like I paid $31 for two plates one plate is fine. The second one is missing damn french fries and all that you gotta tell me is you wanna give me a damn two dollar drink?

Okay. I'm on an atmosphere kick. The atmosphere of a restaurant can determine how you will view everything else. The paint is too dark and it gives the place a dengy feel. So, it doesn't create a good feel. If you are going to have beach stuff on the walls and talk about fresh oysters, liven up the place with pastel beachy colors. It will change the atmosphere and first impressions of the place a lot.

Best fried catfish I have had in a good while. The service was excellent. Couldn't have picked a better place to eat. I highly recommend.

Sam's was a good stop overall. The food was delicious, and that's the main reason we stopped. The inside and outside could use a bit of an upgrade, and more workers would be nice, although they admitted no one wanted to work. Overall, if you like fish, giant shrimp, and burgers with southern sides, stop here.

Spectacular fish and the hush puppies are from heaven. They are very fast at getting your food to you and the service is great. The building is a bit old-fashioned inside, but some might find that appealing. I highly recommend!

Some really yucky fish. Cut very thin and quite tough to pull apart. The shrimp was very good. Nice waitress, but, all in all, very disappointing meal. I probably won't go back.

Restaurant was having staffing issues so the one server there had all tables. Fried catfish was tasty+ green beans, slaw was not cold but had a good flavor. Reasonable prices

Only positive thing about this experience was the server, she was so kind.Onion rings fried so hard they'd break a tooth, seafood Gumbo watered down and served with no rice and a half frozen roll. The shrimp Alfredo had metal shavings all throughout with the dish having literally no taste. The fish steaks had SO MANY bones it couldn't be eaten the way it was intended to be eaten. Food served on blue paper plates.. really? March 16 and the restaurant was decorated in full blown Christmas with trees turned on and shining along with valentine's decorations hanging from the ceiling. Bathrooms were very dark lit and dirty. Feet kept sticking to the floor. Tables were also very sticky as if they were all dirty.What the hell happened to this place?? Sam's Southern Eatery used to be so good.
