I really liked ribs and brisket. it wasnt a 10 out of 10 though. they didn't have much meat on the ribs and they were dry. the brisket was good. the green beans were sweet and deviled egg potato salad was good. the banana pudding was good not the best I have had though. I would try it again if I had the chance to see if I just didn't get the better batch of meats.

I’m no stranger to barbecue—and when it’s good, I’ll be the first to sing its praises. But the consistent hype around Wright’s BBQ genuinely baffles me. I’ve given them not one, but three chances over the years, and each time has been a disappointment.
The first experience was at their Johnson location. The meat was so tough I had to pull out my hunting knife just to get through it. I brought the plate back to the counter and told the cashier it was inedible. Rather than any attempt at hospitality, he got defensive and said, “Everyone likes our BBQ.” I left the plate on the counter and walked out.
The second time was during a company meeting—same story: dry meat, aggressively seasoned sides that made me wonder if the cook’s tastebuds had taken a sick day. It was either syrupy sweet or overwhelmingly salty, with no balance or finesse.
Third time was at an event hosted by Wright’s themselves. Again—dry, unimpressive meat and sides that leaned hard into sugar and salt without much else going on.
I genuinely do not understand the local obsession. Maybe it’s the charisma of the owner (who does seem like a nice and humble guy), or maybe it’s the lack of broader BBQ options in NWA. Or perhaps it’s just effective marketing and community presence. But in my experience, Wright’s BBQ falls short—consistently.
If you're after tender, well-seasoned, balanced barbecue, you may want to look elsewhere.

Awesome bbq, just the right amount of smoke, fresh, hot and they have collard greens! And they are well prepared and taste very fresh with just the right amount of seasoning.
The sides were large portions and the meats were all very tasty and moist. We will go back.

This is our first time to try Wright's BBQ. Food is served cafeteria style. Seating is available inside and outside. I tried the brisket plate with two sides. Having eaten BBQ in Texas I am very discerning. That said, I found the brisket to be very good, and I really like their BBQ sauce. They offer three choices of which I tried their Bold. My wife really enjoyed their Mac and cheese side. The potato salad was fine, while we were not as crazy about their cole slaw. All the people serving were so friendly. All in all, Wright's did not disappoint and excelled with their meat. We would certainly go back.

The place feels cramped at times getting in a line out the door, almost every time, but the wait is worth it. The food is great and the service is always good.

The best barbecue I've ever had! I got the loaded mac & cheese with brisket, and the banana pudding. The banana pudding was phenomenal! I would love the recipe. Everyone was so friendly!! We will definitely be back!
