Solid little sandwich place that also has lots of pickles and preserved items for purchase in the store.

Best known for smoked meats served as cold cuts. Tried a pastrami sandwich on wheat with smoked cheddar, lettuce, onion, and horseradish mustard. Great combo. Pastrami is thin sliced.

Also tried one of the giant cinnamon rolls. Bread part of the roll has a nice consistency. Not too soft and not too bready in my opinion. There isn’t an overload of frosting like some rolls. I felt like it was just the right amount given the presentation.

I was very hungry for some fresh BBQ. Selected the brisket platter. The employee, who was very nice, promptly took a cold brisket from the cooler, sliced it, then took the meat to the back. Came back with the brisket heated covered in sauce. The sauce was not great. I have found restaurants usually slather their BBQ in sauce to cover up subpar meat. Maybe not?

One pound of smoked provolone and one pound of beef sticks added roughly another $50 to my bill. Spent $78 in total. Seemed to be a very nice place, with very friendly staff, but I will not be returning.

Nice stop about 20 minutes outside Hot Springs. Friendly staff, rustic decor, food available, souvenirs, restrooms, and plenty of cool drinks to quench your thirst on a road trip. However, I would hesitate to recommend this place for "BBQ". I think of "BBQ" as coming out of the smoker or off the pit. This does at some point but it is not fresh. Ordered a brisket plate and was served a very thinly sliced cold brisket from the cooler, microwaved and covered in sauce. It looked like a pile of gray colored roast beef. Had high hopes, but very disappointed. The coleslaw was tasteless. The home made bread was great; both white and wheat. The pulled pork was OK, and the potato salad was good.

Stopped in for lunch while taking a mid day break from fishing. Not far from Mountain Harbor Resort, it is full of interesting artifacts and fresh breads, honey, spices, sauce for sale. We were anxious to try the bbq but it sadly disappointed. We tried ribs and brisket lunch plates, both were slathered in sauce. Should have asked for dry meat with sauce on the side. Didn’t care for their baked beans or mac n cheese either. Might opt for a dry brisket sandwich next time. The fresh banana and apple breads looked tasty, as did the brown bread.

Cute little BBQ place. The brisket was thin sliced and good. The store had tons of fruit preserves and canned goods for sale.

Disgusting food. Don't believe the high reviews. Save your money. The whole family got different meals, and they were all disgusting. One of the worst meals that I've ever had. Cinnamon rolls were hard as a rock. Pumpkin roll tasted like smoked meat.

It was ok. Bbq was so so. A bit pricey for no better than the bbq was. Sides and bread were ok. Friendly staff though

Home-made bread is made weekly in-canned vegetables and pickled fruit and vegetables, sorghums, syrups and raw honey all local made. Best place for old world fresh ingredients and something for everyone in your crew. 9 to 90 everyone will come away with their new favorite. Beef jerky is to-die-for. Candy is just like when I was a kid.

Stopped in last week. Husband got the pulled pork and I had the veggies nachos with a side of coleslaw. They had my gold peak unsweetened ice tea. ThereThe pork was really really salty as was my nachos. The coleslaw was just mayo and cabbage, no seasonings. We did get a venison smoke sausage to take home. That was good but like the pork was too salty. The bread was amazing.

Burl’s used to offer a lot of good food. Jerky and other company’s canned goods that they retail is all they have left to offer. Go buy Kroger’s oven cooked ribs before ordering these.
