Went here after visiting the plum bayou mounds and the plantation agriculture museum. Food was wonderful and server Brielle was attentive and friendly. Ribs were tender and moist and catfish was cooked well and nicely seasoned. So great to discover this restaurant while we were playing tourist!

Good food, good service, good people. Down home cooking at reasonable prices. If you're ever in the area stop and eat. It's worth it.

I have to recommend the BBQ sandwich it is awesome. The staff is always pleasant and making sure your order is correct. The atmosphere has a country feel to it which I like because of the type of food they serve and where they are located.

The waitress Cassie was the best. When told what the specials were, chicken spaghetti, tamales with chili and queso or meatloaf.I said Yes! she said I can take care of that. The house salad was delicious, the dressings were house made. The food was exceptional and the price was a bargain for the portion sizes. If you are in the area, or if your not it is worth the drive to Scott.

First time here, just came in to use the restroom because my girl and I stopped by the farmer's market next door to check it out. Just to say I walked out hungry, and told my girl we had to eat here. I was not disappointed, I've found my new go to for family dinner. The staff is awesome and very friendly, THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! Highly recommend for anyone who likes home cooking to stop by and enjoy a delicious meal. Our server Cassie gave us great food recommendations.

Wife and I had lunch there today. Initially, the staff was friendly and efficient. Seated right away. Orders taken promptly. And served within 25 minutes. Wife had the BBQ sandwich which was good. If you like chopped versus pulled pork. She had just water to drink. I tried for the first time the chicken and waffle. I ordered coffee. The coffee mugs are substantial sized and heavy. The coffe was brought properly and was tepid. Barely warm. Obviously, the pot had sat too long unattended and the nice server had no clue. Could not have been trained to pay attention to detail. She was very nice about it as was I. In a few minutes, she brought me a steaming HALF cup of coffee. When I asked, she said it would take time for the rest to be ready. 10 minutes later, she brought me a steaming full cup, but with out food, which was still a good 15 minutes out, I was still working on the hot half cup.We arrived just after noon on a cool 53 degree day. The inside restaurant temperature was an uncomfortable 67. Long seave sweatshirts or sweaters were necessary. No excuse for such a low temp.By the time the food arrived, my half cup was done and my full cup now marginally hot.The waffle and chicken were sprinkled with confectionery sugar. There were two barely medium sized chicken fingers and two small ounce cups of syrup. The waffles - 2 small ones - were sprinkled with real bacon bits. Looked delicious! The syrup was cold! I mean cold-cold. That should never happen. After being served cold coffee, I did not have the heart to ask our server to warm up the syrup. That is a management failure. Not hers. The bacon bits were very tasty and a nice touch but also cold. The waffles were barely warm. The two chicken fingers were appropriately hot and very tasty. Perfectly cooked but for the price, $13, should have been 3 that size or two larger ones. After being served our food, we were abandoned. Our server whizzed by once and asked if all was OK but did not slow up to hear the answer. They were not that busy. For a Tuesday lunch they had a good crowd but never full the nearly 90 minutes we were there. The servers seemed to have a smile and friendly down home attitude. A real plus. They and their manager need more training to learn to pay attention to details. Maybe so the cook also. Hot food on a cool outside day would have been better. A warm inside would have been even better! We would go back. Good food. Initial efficiency. Maybe next time it will be warm inside. The coffee kept hot and all the food served hot. Wife’s BBQ sandwich and French Fries were appropriately hot. .

My burger was very dry and my fries came out cold. But the onion rings and caramel cake were amazing! And the service was excellent.

I’ve heard how great this restaurant is from multiple people, and all the praise is correct. All the foods I tried were delicious with huge portions! The brisket was moist, the catfish was crispy, the baked beans were sweet, and the mac-n-cheese was creamy. The appetizer brisket nachos are by far the best in my opinion. Their queso is amazing! Honestly I can’t imagine something of theirs not tasting good. The service was great even on a busy Saturday lunch rush.
