WOW! I have definitely found my new spot! Not only did my smile go from ear to ear when walking into this place because it is just so beautifully decorated, but I was greeted by the sweetest lady, Wendy! She made my margarita fresh and as requested, and a TAJIN rim!! Sold! Fried calamari was freshly battered (I ate a few before taking this photo) and the quesabirrias were out of this world delicious. I will DEFINITELY be back again!

Food was good but messed up my friends order twice. I don’t know if because the music was too loud to hear us or because communication between staff and kitchen was off. Music was definitely too loud! Had to yell to be heard by the waitress and couldn’t really have a conversation with friends. The place looks amazing tho! The artwork that’s painted on the wall looks awesome.

I went twice, the atmosphere was pleasant, the food left a lot to be desired. A pozole without flavor, very bad, some dry ribs without meat seemed dehydrated, I ordered birria tacos and it was the same story as the pozole, the person who was at the bar did not have the best treatment with us. I would not return nor recommend this place.

We ate at Kalaveras in Huntington Beach for the first time last night. It was a wonderful experience for all five of us! Our server, Jonathan was top notch, and he explained the menu to all five of us, to make it easy for us to decide what we wanted to order! He couldn't have been better! The food was outstanding, from the guacamole to our appetizers, entrees and desserts! We are definitely going back soon, and even want to take our friend there when he visits from Washington! We all highly recommend giving Kalaveras a try! You definitely won't be disappointed!

We just now got back home from an excellent visit to Kalaveras. What an incredible place! I've driven past it countless times and decided tonight to go and visit. Excellent food and portion sizes, nice dark surroundings with interesting paintings on the wall and music in the background, and attentive service from the wait staff. All in all, a great place to stop and visit if you're ever in the area. Thanks for a GREAT meal!!!

I ordered an order of oysters late 50 minutes waiting for my order and when my order arrived I saw the oysters which had a strange greenish yellow and black appearance (it is not the first time I have consumed oysters) but it was my first time ordering them here since it was New customer I asked the waitress if I could cancel the order since I didn't like the way it looked, to which she kindly responded that I couldn't and I had to leave them on the table, losing my money.

The vibe at Kalaveras makes you feel like it is your birthday, even when it's a friend's birthday you are attending. The staff and aura when you come in makes you feel like you are enjoying an elevated experience, and its actually gets better from there. The order service is quick and the team is well-trained, so your drinks and apps come up lightning fast, as you take in the soccer highlights, Dia De Los Muertos original multi media artwork, and happy patrons jamming to upbeat latin classics and Skull Tequila Shot Sparkler Birthday cheer sessions (which I enjoyed after a long week at the office). Most importantly, the menu is both traditional and also has many original combinations. The guacamole was fluffy and flavorful and the potato taquitos would would impress any vegetarian. The Happy Hour Margaritas I had and the other drink specials are so affordable and quality booze to boot. As a gringo, I can tell you that I felt like I was part of the whole vibe in there and the place has a positive vibration radiating from it. We were lucky enough to have the cool manager, Raul, check in on our experience and we had a great conversation. I have to say the staff here seem to be a hand-picked, tight -knit group that make sure your party has what it needs with the quickness. Thus it is a rare 6 out of 5 star experience...although it might be the bomb margaritas talkin'. :)

Worst restaurant experience in awhile. 1 waitress for the whole restaurant. Slow service. No water for 15 minutes. Food came out cold. Beans are watery and cold. Rice was chewy. My wife's chimichanca was so gross! The flavor of the steak meat inside was crazy strong and just gross. She literally threw up after we left. Nothing we had was good. Most of the meat is fat. Will never come back.
