Be ignored at the window for 10 minutes, pay 18 dollars for two coffees, wait upwards of 20 minutes, tour inside where it’s crowded and loud, finally get your coffee and ask which mocha has the oat milk, they didn’t mark it and don’t know, and they look exactly the same.

There was a time they’d ask if you wanted extra shots in the form of hotshots or “toddies”, now they don’t ask, and I watched as an iced drink I paid 8 dollars for get their pre-made who-knows-what concentrate instead of their actual, freshly ground, freshly pulled, vastly expensive on the shelf espresso. Onyx’s chai option also used to be good, with a good amount of spice. Since their grand opening I’ve yet to experience the same standard, yet I pay the same price.

There are plenty of reviews that would call the atmosphere relaxed. They all must’ve visited a neighboring bar before ordering; it is typically crowded and so loud you can hardly hear people across from you. How anyone in the upstairs “quiet area” gets any work done I’ll never know. Here is why it’s so crowded: because it’s a hangout spot. These people don’t care to wait the 20 minutes or 25+ if you want something other than coffee because they’re going to hang around for upwards of 2 hours anyway.

Never forget the other review who noticed all transactions also get a 4% extra charge for “employee benefits”. Huh? At 8 dollars per coffee and with an interior as grand and ostentatious as it is, they also want us to pay for their employee’s benefits? Is that before or after I also pay 10 dollars for their signature chocolate that’s 10 cm by 10 cm, single sheet? Or 17 dollars for “avocado on toast”?

Let’s face it. People go here for the looks of it. And they must really like the look of it, based on how long everyone is spending in line or waiting for about 5 baristas to pull your one shot.

Note: they keep either reporting or removing this review. Every time I check for it, it’s gone. That alone is a testament to their business in itself.

If you want a boujie cup of coffee or Chai with a tasty pastry this is your place. Lovely ambience with plenty of light. Go down and get some chocolate samples at their chocolate factory in the basement and they have a little local goods gift shop.

Horrible staff, the girl with blonde straight hair and bangs in very bad mood and very rude. Businesses can’t go well with bad customer service.

onyx is always a classic in NWA. this location is new so it’s a little less busy than the others! delicious drinks and looks like they now have some pretty variations of cinnamon rolls such as ube, orange, etc. a tasty addition to the pastry selection☺️

Chocolate Bar Downstairs Review: we were fortunate enough to talk with the chocolatier who was currently making up a batch. He was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all our questions and gave us plenty of delicious samples. They have a wide array of chocolate options all of which were great. Overall this was a wonderful place for a date.

Stood by the window and waited to be assisted, after waiting for awhile no one ever came up to take my order so I ended up leaving.

Over 20 USD for two coffees, why go here when it’s over priced overly milky and they don’t make matcha using real powder just their pre-made pre-sweetened stuff? Same with their chai? At an “artisan” price?
Go to Airship. Spend about 11 for two coffees, basically half off. Go to RedKite for the same, go to Confident coffee, or Doomsday. All NWA local, all basically half off, compared to this place, and make good coffee and at least matcha from scratch. Onyx used to be local like and quaint but power has gotten to them, they can get away with over charging and under delivering it seems.

Finally was able to try it after hearing about the hype while on my way to war eagle fair. The coffee tasted of high quality and had a distinct enough taste to differentiate itself from other coffee shops. When you can have your own distinctive taste, that is always a huge win with me. Will make sure to stop by at onyx coffee establishments when I travel to or through NWA. My only suggestion is that they bring a truck or booth to War Eagle Fair. They would be a killing in revenue there. Especially since I didn't see any coffee shops this year at the fair. Overall, you need to stop here and try it and support this local business.

Been here a couple times and employees just aren’t trained well. Muffins was cold, coffee drinks aren’t well made. Go to casa magnolia instead.

We stopped here after dinner at Gaskins to get some coffee and ice cream. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I am not able to have dairy, so they let me know which of the baked goods were still available (this was at 7pm) and were really nice to chat with. The ice cream was so good for all of the kids and the coffee absolutely top notch (as usual). They have a spacious layout with indoor and outdoor seating, and different set ups good for groups or people out having a coffee and working on a laptop. I am a big fan of Onyx, and this location did not disappoint

My new go-to meet up spot and personal favorite coffee shop in all of NWA…. The design and layout is both beautiful aesthetically and functionally practical. There is never a shortage of places to sit. The drinks are excellent - please keep the Tiramisu latte on the menu forever! I’ve also enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and orange roll and recommend sharing these with a friend, as the portions are large and, in the case of the orange roll, very rich, but perfectly indulgent. Grateful for Onyx investing in downtown Springdale with this impeccable newest location. They’ve nailed form and function, and it’s a delight to experience.

Heard a lot of hype about this place. It’s a good (semi-expensive) coffee that one can enjoy, however if you are here when it’s busy…expect the pager beeping to drive you away. About every 3-5 seconds other people drinks are becoming available for pickup, but it’s also triggering the pager system to notify the patron. If it wasn’t for the pagers going off..its not a bad place to sit down and get work done…but its a red light for me in the future until they get a better notification system. I can expect this at a food venue with long wait lines, but his is a bit over the top at how many are actually waiting for the drink to be made up front, and then page them to walk 3 steps forward.

It’s a cute coffee shop, very aesthetic. However, their food was awful and overpriced for what we ordered. I got the orange roll, it was not fresh and it was hard to cut into. My matcha was simply okay, not the best that I’ve had. My partner got a sandwich and couldn’t even finish it because the bacon was so hard to chew. Overall we wouldn’t return as the value for what we received wasn’t worth it!
