Absolutely fantastic tortillas! We enjoyed them so much we ate through them quick enough, we had to go to the market and by extras to freeze! Very addictive!

You have the option to have olive oil tortillas or ones made the original way with lard.

I was in Mexico City (La Condesa) in December 2019 and was introduced to an artisanal tortilleria that made THE best flour tortillas I had ever had. It was a small storefront where you could see past the counter into the production area. When the day’s production was sold, they closed. Minimal ingredients, very fresh, and the secret was the use of good lard, which gives the tortillas a translucent look and a uniquely addictive chew.

Since moving to Arizona in 2023 (from NYC), I have been looking for a tortilla that matched my memories of the ones I had in CdMX. I found them here at Benny Blanco.

This location is a production kitchen with retail, so the atmosphere vibes depend on your interest in the equipment –there was no production going on when I visited later in the day on Thursday, when they are open to the public.

In addition to the traditional variety (in 3 sizes) there are vegan and GF options which I did not try. Did I mention? They sample - warmed up! (Just ask.)

I did sample the chile/cheese tortilla, which was also excellent. The heat of the chile was undergirded by the aged cheddar (from Cabot Creamery) in a way that just rocked. Complex and balanced.

So you’ll want to stock up. Just saying. I am very glad I did.

Best tortillas in town! We have been a customer for many years!

Store bought tortillas are ruined for me now. Ever since finding Benny Blanco's tortillas at the Gilbert Farmers market a few years back, my family and I can't get enough. Can't make it to the market on Saturdays? They distribute their amazing tortillas to storefronts across the valley and even open their own storefront on Thursdays for your tortilla fix. If you havnt tried a Benny Blanco tortilla yet, you're missing out!

The tallow and chile tortillas are the best tortillas I have ever had, and I'm a self proclaimed tortilla snob. Ate them with eggs, bacon and roasted green chillies.
