The meat slicer deli

Editing since trying the sandwiches- orders were wrong. Not even edible. Reached out to the owner but the email is invalid and he won’t answer my texts. Just wanted my $27 refund for my bad experience and inedible sandwiches :)

Writing this review before even eating the sandwich. Waited 30 minutes as the only customer for two sandwiches. The prices are outrageous for two sandwiches. Love supporting local but def won’t be back here.

I’ve heard this place has big great sandwiches! I’ve never been in before 5 mins ago we walk in and the lady behind the counter walks from behind to the front register and stands there and looks at us haha no words exchange said hello still no words spoken kinda thinking if I walk out now I can avoid more awkwardness but I stuck it through oh I haven’t put my contacts in today yet so I couldn’t read or see anything I joked about this but still no expression no words exchanged still my partner in crime read the signs to me so I ordered very simple I’d like wheat bread, pastrami, pepper jack the sign says it comes with with lettuce tomato and onion she clarified I said all with mustard now I’m in the car eating this bomb roast beef and lettuce sandwich won’t be back good food good price horrible everything else

Excellent sandwiches and excellent staff. I picked up four sandwiches to split with my kids, we tried a variety of their specials and they were all good. We liked the Hawaiian and the Turkey Avocado the most. The guy running the place was friendly and made great sandwiches. Thank you for an A+ sandwich and I'll see you guys the next time I'm in Apache Junction.

We were in AJ today looking at a few flea markets and decided to get lunch and the Meat Slicer had a 4.5 rating and a deli sandwich sounded good to the both of us. So we went there and got a Slicer special to split with a couple waters and Cheetos. Before tax and tip that order was $17.15 after $21.60. The sandwich was very good with
Loads of meat, but a deli should have some side salad and a pickle having a healthy portion of meats is just the start especially for a $12.69 sandwich. People were very nice, the server is a bit lackluster but that's pretty much what you get these days. The selection of drinks and chips was VERY LIMITED also another fail for a "deli". My rating for this establishment if I were talking about the sandwich only would be a 4.5, but given the idea we were going to a local deli with such a high rating within YELP our expectations were much higher.

My order was messed up ask to have it remade lady started talking crap I informed her that I told her what I did not want on my sandwich. Guy was on the phone the whole time
Neither washed their hands or wore gloves. Took 40 minutes to even get our food. Will never fo back did not even eat my sandwich. The lady was not dressed appropriately at all.

Beware: To everyone in AJ : Dont eat at Meat Slicer next to Captain’s in the Antique Mall Plaza. Rude manors of female staff and filthy appearance. Guy was on the phone entire time so as only customer we waited 40 min to get 4 cold sandwiches. To my friend who wanted to treat his friends to a good meal as it used to be a favorite place for is to go. Thank you for your kindness. I hope that you are successful in your claim and are able to have payment reversed. Female staff person is rude and nasty. Stained greasy clothing. Male is on the phone instead of preparing food. 40 minutes to prepare 4 cold sandwiches on dried out bread. Horrible. On top I was sick all night with nausea, bloating etc….

I really wanted to like this place but it was AWFUL. They need to fire the girl they have working there with dark hair. She shows absolutely no facial expression and is rude. Not to mention it took her 35 MINUTES to make 2 sandwiches I could have made in 5. 35 minutes! the sandwiches were $13 each no drink ir chips, which is wayy overpriced for what you get (especially with the awful service).this place had potential, but please fire the girl and lower your prices to be affordable.

Big yikes today, won't be back. Really unfortunate because we love to support local business.
We came here years ago and loved it. Sweet staff, I believe it was the owners that served us. Food was amazing and excellent for the price.

Today a young-ish heavyset lady comes out from the back, pulling her shirt down over her exposed belly like she just finished up a nap after an ultrasound. Super bizarre.
Not friendly, no smile, very off-putting.

Only one other person came in after. It took 25 minutes to make the one sandwhich for us.
Sandwhich was tasty, service was such dogwater we can't justify coming back.

Hope the owners read these reviews and get it together, there have been numerous complaints about the service and it seems especially about this lady. You're losing business for no reason, the food is too good for this ish.

It was my first time at this place the girl taking my order look like she had just woke up not friendly.I told her it was my first time no kind of suggestion or recommendation on the sandwiches just stood quiet looking at me.This place needs some mayor cleaning the plastic container where they place the napkins is very dirty and just in general in several areas.I would not be returning to this deli.

Seemed like when we walked in they had just burnt some bacon. The woman that took our order didn’t seem to appreciate we were customers. No pleasantries. Could not give us change from the register to give her a tip. Sandwich was good probably because we were hungry. Nothing to write home about.

We showed up in the early afternoon and the place was empty! Thankful wecould get a quick sandwich and be on our way. My buddy and I ordered, and took a seat and I’m assuming the woman that took our order went back to make our sandwiches. About 5 minutes later another person entered and she came up to take his order and then went back to the kitchen. After sitting for about 10 minutes two more guys walked in and ordered. After they ordered they took a seat. My friend and I ordered the slicer works, the next guy ordered and Italian and the two other guys ordered a slicer works and pastrami.After about 10 more minutes she comes out and gives the two guys their sandwiches and they leave. 5 minutes after that she comes out with the Italian and he leaves. At this point we’ve been sitting for 30 minutes and still no sandwiches. After 10 more minutes we finally get our sandwiches (to go) and we leave…. Well they were the wrong ones… we got the slicer works and pastrami order for the last two guys, assuming she just gave the right sandwiches to the wrong people.The pastrami sandwich was good and I’m not a pastrami fan. Might be back… might not

So just have to say ordered my food and a guy came in about 5 min after me (no one else in the shop at that time) and ordered then about 5-10 later a group two guys came in and ordered. Some how the 2 guys got their food first and then the 1 guy before they even started my food….when they were working on it before the first guy came in….40 minutes to get a sandwich is a joke ?…they must not understand the supply chain inventory management of FIFO or they like to use FILO…either way I got told don’t worry it’ll be five minutes. No you mean 40 minutes total. The order wasn’t even the right sandwiches after all that but I refused to wait even longer for it to be fixed. Come on lady you need to do better, she really is not good with service. I won’t be coming back if she is working.

Sooo disappointed. I ate here last year and this was the best sandwich ever. This visit was the worst! Service sucked. I ordered an Italian sub and got a pastrami and turkey with one banana pepper on it. Worst ever. Don’t go.
