The meat slicer deli

I don't come for the atmosphere and the service is what you would expect from a sandwich shop. Sandwiches are good, we get one here every time we are in town. They're big and tasty.

Over the years the delivery has become very rundown and dirty. Please clean the place! Don't you want to stay in business? And the service is WIERD! Worker had no shoes, bootie shorts, big (maybe pregnant) belly showing and a tiny sports bra. I wonder why the Health Department has not shut them down?

The place is dumpy, service slow and irritated. But the food is great. A shame really, they could be so much better...

The sandwiches here are so good. The size of these sandwiches compensates for its price

The atmosphere is weird. It's confusing to even know what to order; weird confusing signs everywhere. Nothing looks like a menu. The person who came out to apparently take my order didn't say anything for an awkward amount of time. I asked where to order from and the handwritten price of things was faded from time. The clothes this person chose to wear to work looked like what one might wear on laundry day when the only thing available is lint covered terry cloth short shorts and a faded old T-shirt. Very unprofessional and VERY awkward!!! How they have any business at all is unbelievable. I couldn't leave fast enough. But I did. I feel bad. I really wanted to like this place and I was really hungry.

Waiting 40 minutes for a single sandwich with 3 people in this restaurant total is insane. I want an hour of my Saturday back from this. I could have walked to Fry’s and made one in the parking lot for that much time.

Editing since trying the sandwiches- orders were wrong. Not even edible. Reached out to the owner but the email is invalid and he won’t answer my texts. Just wanted my $27 refund for my bad experience and inedible sandwiches :)

Writing this review before even eating the sandwich. Waited 30 minutes as the only customer for two sandwiches. The prices are outrageous for two sandwiches. Love supporting local but def won’t be back here.

I’ve heard this place has big great sandwiches! I’ve never been in before 5 mins ago we walk in and the lady behind the counter walks from behind to the front register and stands there and looks at us haha no words exchange said hello still no words spoken kinda thinking if I walk out now I can avoid more awkwardness but I stuck it through oh I haven’t put my contacts in today yet so I couldn’t read or see anything I joked about this but still no expression no words exchanged still my partner in crime read the signs to me so I ordered very simple I’d like wheat bread, pastrami, pepper jack the sign says it comes with with lettuce tomato and onion she clarified I said all with mustard now I’m in the car eating this bomb roast beef and lettuce sandwich won’t be back good food good price horrible everything else

Excellent sandwiches and excellent staff. I picked up four sandwiches to split with my kids, we tried a variety of their specials and they were all good. We liked the Hawaiian and the Turkey Avocado the most. The guy running the place was friendly and made great sandwiches. Thank you for an A+ sandwich and I'll see you guys the next time I'm in Apache Junction.

We were in AJ today looking at a few flea markets and decided to get lunch and the Meat Slicer had a 4.5 rating and a deli sandwich sounded good to the both of us. So we went there and got a Slicer special to split with a couple waters and Cheetos. Before tax and tip that order was $17.15 after $21.60. The sandwich was very good with
Loads of meat, but a deli should have some side salad and a pickle having a healthy portion of meats is just the start especially for a $12.69 sandwich. People were very nice, the server is a bit lackluster but that's pretty much what you get these days. The selection of drinks and chips was VERY LIMITED also another fail for a "deli". My rating for this establishment if I were talking about the sandwich only would be a 4.5, but given the idea we were going to a local deli with such a high rating within YELP our expectations were much higher.

My order was messed up ask to have it remade lady started talking crap I informed her that I told her what I did not want on my sandwich. Guy was on the phone the whole time
Neither washed their hands or wore gloves. Took 40 minutes to even get our food. Will never fo back did not even eat my sandwich. The lady was not dressed appropriately at all.

Beware: To everyone in AJ : Dont eat at Meat Slicer next to Captain’s in the Antique Mall Plaza. Rude manors of female staff and filthy appearance. Guy was on the phone entire time so as only customer we waited 40 min to get 4 cold sandwiches. To my friend who wanted to treat his friends to a good meal as it used to be a favorite place for is to go. Thank you for your kindness. I hope that you are successful in your claim and are able to have payment reversed. Female staff person is rude and nasty. Stained greasy clothing. Male is on the phone instead of preparing food. 40 minutes to prepare 4 cold sandwiches on dried out bread. Horrible. On top I was sick all night with nausea, bloating etc….

I really wanted to like this place but it was AWFUL. They need to fire the girl they have working there with dark hair. She shows absolutely no facial expression and is rude. Not to mention it took her 35 MINUTES to make 2 sandwiches I could have made in 5. 35 minutes! the sandwiches were $13 each no drink ir chips, which is wayy overpriced for what you get (especially with the awful service).this place had potential, but please fire the girl and lower your prices to be affordable.
