Filanta Wings - Avondale

I don't usually write reviews, but I had to share our experience at this establishment. My husband and I wanted to try something new and decided to order wings to go. They did not disappoint! The wings were flavorful and cooked perfectly. We didn't stay to dine in, but the owner was friendly and the atmosphere had a cute vibe that made us feel welcome. We're definitely planning to return to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!

First,let me give my apology upfront... I always forget to take pictures! I've been to Filanta a few times now and can see there is a definite consistency with the awesome wings! Freshly cooked when I ordered and the cook on the was spot on. It's now my go-to wing spot!

Food is very tasty, loved everything, we got 24 wings with 3 flavors. We took level 10 spicey hot, level 5 sweet and spicy and a not so hot lemon pepper. All really good. What really sold me was learning they have stand up comedy and bands. And the owner Lin came out to greet us. Let me explain something here, its rare to find an owner who is the master chef to take the time to greet customers at their table and answer questions. She tells me they have a challenge with eating a wing. You get one single wing super hot and spicy its roughly a level 15 as oppose to the level 10 you find in menu. It's free, it's just for fun. And there are rules. No water for 6 minutes. And have to eat every part of that wing except the bone. So I took the challenge, I announced to all guest to feel free on my challenge and come watch. Why not? Let's make this more fun and others can see. Now take into consideration I just ate 6 level 10 wings just before jumping to level 15 challenge. My eyes were already on fire. But hey let's take a higher challenge. I started eating it. I devoured it. I licked all my fingers clean. Bartender was like Wow he is even licking up the sauce. Then I said level 15 this was easy. But remember 6 minutes. About 4 minutes after, I was on fire, my eyes flared up, bags under eyes were just crazy flared. I had endless tears dripping, mouth on fire. But I was okay. The flavor was awesome. My wife laughing, guests laughing, I was just having a good time being center of attention. 6 minutes finally reached. I slammed lots of water. Got free ice cream which was also very tasty. I survived. Will definitely go back without a doubt. My only concern was the beer selection was not so good. Domestic beers except for one in particular which is Red "something " don't recall the full name. Authentic: apparently most popular in the Philipines. But I'm an IPA fan. I was hoping for Hopknot or Tower Station or Voodoo Ranger. But nope just domestic. Otherwise fantastic experience.

I'd like to go back and make a record of that challenge and see if I can eat 10 of them. This way the challenge becomes an even bigger challenge for someone else.

Rodney Dangerfield is famous restaurant owner before he made fame in Hollywood. Thing that made him famous was greeting each table with kindness and telling jokes and making his customers feel welcomed. Lin didn't tell jokes but she certainly had the charm. Definitely worth checking this place out. "This is not a paid review" We was the evening of 9/27/2024 before the night got started. We would of stayed but unfortunately I had to work early Saturday morning.

I absolutely love the wings here, the quality of wing and the flavors are amazing. No complaints on the food at all. However, to order delivery is not easy. Since I’ve found out about Filanta Wings I always order delivery and their website always gives me issues and on DoorDash it won’t let you choose the drink choice or the flavor choice for the 15 piece combo. If it weren’t for the food I wouldn’t go through the hassle of ordering and calling. Most the time it’s easy enough to call and just tell them the name for the order and the drink choice and wing flavors so they know to put a note on it for when it comes through their end, but today the guy that answered the phone was super argumentative about it and would not listen to what I was saying at all and almost lost my business. He kept thinking I was trying to change my order when I was simply telling him what the order was so he knew what to look for. The delivery ordering side of things definitely needs to be fixed on the customer side or I won’t be a customer much longer with such interactions like I had today.

Flavorful and crispy wings. Fries were outstanding. Top of the line service from our waiter Christy and our Cook/Owner. A little hidden with limited signage, but definitely a gem.

Stopped in here to try the wings on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered for to go. Was provided a glass of water while I waited which was nice. The fries were really good. A bit salty but not bad. 8 piece boneless with 2 flavors. Could have been crispier but sometimes that’s what you get with tossed boneless wings. Sauces were good. Now for the few quirks… Took about 38 minutes to get my order Of 8 boneless and fries. One other to go order at bar and
Only one table occupied. I had to remind server for my drink. I had to ask for a fork as One was not In the bag. Upon getting into the truck and opening my order I saw there was no ranch and it was missing the veggies per the description. I chose not to go back in as I had waited long enough and it was extremely hot out.

We needed a late night wing fix, and this restaurant did not disappoint. We ordered takeout wings (half buffalo, half lemon pepper), fries, veggies and drinks.

RE: Food- Wings from the usual places have been disappointingly small lately. The wings here are quite large. I remarked that at least 2 of the wings in our order were the size of small chicken legs! The wings were perfectly CRISP and juicy inside. We received a large portion of filanta fries, I believe the fries are pre-seasoned, but crispy and fresh. Both the wings and fries were a bit over seasoned/sauced for my taste, but my son absolutely loved them. Next time I will probably order my wings and fries plain, and order sauced for my son. Side note: Without specifying a dressing preference, we received 2 small sides of blue cheese with our order, I am not sure if blue cheese is the standard side dressing with wing orders but I wish I would have known so that I could order ranch dressing for my son, who does not like blue cheese. Sodas were COLD and CANNED- just as I prefer in a takeout order.

Re: Service- Shortly after placing our order online, I received a call stating that veggies were not available as a side item (as we ordered) and I was offered an alternate/upgraded side item, this was greatly appreciated- both for the quick notification and willingness to accommodate an alternate/upgraded side. Pick-up was easy and fast. Service was prompt and friendly. While a minor error was made in our order (a forgotten sauce), the staff notified me as I was walking to my car and immediately corrected the issue- very professional! Side note: If I am not mistaken, I believe the website states that delivery is free as long as it is not through an outside vendor??

With a couple order adjustments, would definitely order again... Thanks for a delicious late night meal!

**Bonus points for late hours of service for night owls and shift workers!**

Came in and loved the ambience from the moment I stepped through the door. Great hospitality and the wings were amazing. Closest thing to Atlanta style wings that I've had since moving here from GA. I recommend the Lemon Pepper Twist flavor.

Was looking for wings in the Avondale area unlike brothers wings because they have become soooo tiny.. found this place on google and went in to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful Asian cuisine restaurant with a full bar, a stage, and a lot of seating. There was a ton of options in the menu but I wanted wings.. The wings I got were buffalo hot, lemon pepper buffalo hot, and Asian bbq.. the wings were HUGE you get your moneys worth for sure and the taste was great!! Had to stop my daughter from eating all my damn wings lol would highly recommend this location for pickup delivery or dine in! I will be back ASAP!!! maybe even tomorrow lol

Best wings I've ever had. I got boneless in Asian bbq, dry rub, and lemon pepper. They're not pre-frozen BWW style. These are big chunks of hand breaded perfectly crispy well seasoned amazingly done wings. I'm SO sad I am from out of town and won't have more of these without a 5 hour flight ? But they're so huge, I took most of it to the hotel for lunch tomorrow!

These are hands down literally the BEST WINGS IN AZ! If you haven't tried them yet then you def need to. You will never want to eat wings from any other wing places after you try these amazing wings with all kinds of different and unique sauces that are home made, you can't find anything like these sauces any where else!! My 2 Favorite's are Asian BBQ and Chef Lins dry rub ohh and the French fries are absolutely amazing aswel!

I want to tell you how happy I am to have met the most wonderful master Chef Lin and owner of the Filanta wings restaurant in Avondale , AZ. I had the best time. The master chef is unique. She is so nice and warm and very friendly. She took her time and talked to me and made me feel special. She has a big heart and is very human and kind. She has a beautiful smile. We ate very tasty chicken wings. They were magical and incredibly delicious. It had everything. In today's hard and lying time, we need such a warm place and good people like master chef Lin and her restaurant. We all need that beautiful place to escape from the reality and the crazy go go go life and to land in a warm lovely wings place like Filanta wings ! They also have a special breakfast and karaoke and a comedian who does a show and bar and you can have fun . Wonderful place. Unique. I highly recommend this place. You will not regret it. House fries are the best ! Everything is good. Please visit this place ! Amazing !

First time coming here and it’s around 10pm. Go in and my wife and I have no clue on what is good and what to order. The guy running the joint is very friendly and explains what is what and he is patient with us because my wife and I can’t decide if we want dry rub wings or the elixir. We get Korean bbq, adobo, and the dry rub wings and holy cow the bomb Filanta fries. I have to say, I was treated to some really good wings and fries last night. Pricing was good and the flavor was well worth it. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you. The food was delicious.
