I ordered avo toast 2 toast and got only 1 egg fried with yoke because the cook doesn’t scramble eggs on Thursdays lol! What!!!!?? lol! I also ordered I think it’s called French toast coffe and it had no flavor! I did love the crowd and place is nice inside! I think they should just offer SRAMBLED EGGS EVERYDAY!!!! It’s breakfast for heavens sakes lol! I have never been to a restaurant for breakfast that say, “sorry, today we don’t scramble eggs, we only fry a little and with the yoke!! What!!!??? I’m confused! Hey! Penny Cafe cook! Go check out Robeks avocado toast! Now that is what I’m talking about! That is what an avocado toast looks like and with 2 eggs on top of TWO TOASTS
Hey Brittany , if you’re reading this make sure you update your online photos accordingly to what your “standard recipe”entails. Tomatoes should just be called a garnish since you grabbed 2 and cut them in half and threw them on there .

I ordered 3 drinks. the sugar free copper coin with whipped cream and it was super watery had to doctor it up at home. than I ordered 3 shots of espresso with cream over ice and that coffee had a great taste. last drink i had was there black tea and that was pretty good similar to china mist brand tea. Also I ordered a bagel and that by far was the MOST disgusting bagel I’ve ever had. It was so hard and flavorless. I literally couldn’t even finish it. Also they gave me the wrong cream cheese. Definitely not worth the money. I would rather eat bagels from the grocery store.

I’m giving them a 1 star because of their customer service. Every single time I have a pick up order I’ll stand I. The designated area for pick up and NOBODY acknowledges me or comes to help me. So, I will go to the regular line where they tell me I can go over to the designated area like whattttt?! It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. It happened today so that’s why I’m writing this review. Do better.

I've been here twice and the first time I came here I thought it was good I ordered a sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a burrito. Moments later my boyfriend's stomach was upset and kept needing to use the bathroom. I was fine. The second time I came here I had the problem he was having and I had a sandwich and a coffee here. The sandwich i had tasted like bad oil or something. I don't know if it was the coffee that made me go or the sandwich but overall it was ok. From both of our experiences I don't think I will return

I visited twice recently with mixed experiences. During my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and exceptional customer service. It was a promising introduction to the café, and I left feeling positive about the establishment.
However, my second visit(just yesterday)was a stark contrast. I ordered an alcoholic drink and provided my ID as required. When I later ordered a different drink, I was asked for my ID again, even though I had already shown it. The employee handling my order, a young woman with glasses, was noticeably unfriendly, and her attitude made the entire experience feel unpleasant and unwelcoming. Additionally, I found that the food and pastries on this visit were subpar compared to my previous experience.
While I understand that mistakes can happen, consistency in service is crucial, especially in small businesses where customer relationships matter. I sincerely hope that the management invests in further training for their staff to ensure that all customers feel valued and respected.
At this point, I cannot recommend Penny Café, as the experience no longer justifies the price or the promise of a friendly, inviting atmosphere. There are plenty of other small businesses that truly value their customers, and I look forward to supporting them instead.

Nice place to hang out, get your coffee or smoothie. You have to stand in line for awhile on a Sunday morning to order and they bring your food...somewhat fast food type and favor but food was okay! Good for one time experience

It looked packed and the coffee smelt great so we stopped to eat. The vibe was great and coffee reminded me of the amazing ones in Melbourne Australia. Unfortunately the food we ordered was good but super bland and mushy. We will try it again though and try different food.
Kid-friendliness: Was kid friendly but not.for kids that can't sit.

The atmosphere and staff are nice which is the only reason i’d give this place 3 stars. The menu, the way the food looks and tastes is 1 star in my opinion. I haven’t been to this place in about a year but it definitely went downhill food and flavor wise. Everything looked really sloppy and had weird or minimal flavor. I would have made much better food at home with little effort. I had to return my matcha latte…it was gross tasting tbh and it was actually my first time ever doing that at a restaurant. One of the workers was nice enough to let me exchange it for a cold brew, so I did appreciate that. I’d recommend to get food elsewhere and maybe come here for just drinks? (definitely NOT the matcha latte though)

Food was delicious, got 2 breakfast burritos. I had the California burrito and it was delicious. I was nervous of how good the meat inside would be considering this being more of a cafe but it was DELICIOUS. I got a small iced coffee that was pretty good too! The environment is cute and The service was super fast. The downside was it was very expensive. 2 burritos, a Danish, a small iced coffee and an apple juice was $50 which I wasn't anticipating.

My gf was telling me “NeW pEnNy! NeW pEnNy!..” and I am always reluctant on trying new places and she said it was great food so about 2 months ago i had tried their sausage breakfast sandwich of some sort last time and it tasted so weird. Almost like it had something rotten, a slight sour taste. I don’t know if my taste buds are broken or what happened but i could not eat it. Today i tried their biscuits and gravy bcuz i wanted to give them another chance. I was thinking “biscuits and gravy sound good” AND i feel like u can’t mess that up. So i get my food take a bite and immediately regretted my decision. I was let down so hard, i thought they accidentally gave me crunchy sourdough slabs, with i have no idea what, it but it didn’t taste anywhere near gravy. It tasted like a thousand island looking tomato soup with spices poured over the bread. I don’t even think a homeless person would eat that. Unfortunately i wasted time and money on this place again. :/

The vibe, customer service, and coffee is on point but the food is less to be desired. If they get a real chef who can make real eggs, real potatoes, and specialty food items, instead of using pre bought food. This place can be on point.
I’ve come here at least five times for work and enjoyed the things I pointed out above but when it comes time to order food I cringe because the food is a disappointment. This is the only true cafe in the west valley that has the potential to be great but not without good quality food. I am a chef, so let me know if I can offer my services to train your staff.
Thanks you!
