Pretty good pizza. Service could be better but it was acceptable.

Last Saturday we brought an awesome autism party of over 25 guests to New York Pizza Dept in Avondale. The staff communicated with me throughout the preceding two weeks to make sure everything was ready. On the day of our party, we called to say we were on our way. They pushed tables together and got a space ready for us. They prepared about fifteen cheese and pepperoni pizza pies for us that were delicious, plentiful and hot out of the oven when we arrived. The staff was highly attentive and made sure none of our guests wanted for anything. If we finished our drinks, the glasses were refilled before we even saw them walk by. They wanted to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and WE DID! Two thumbs up for New York Pizza Dept. in Avondale and their awesome, attentive staff. We WILL be back!

I finally found my go-to pizza place in the far west valley!! Our friends picked up some pizza on Pie day so lots of places were pretty busy but you'd never know with the attitude of the staff at NYPD. We also had no idea they closed at 8 and called a little before to order they said no problem and were happy to make it. The customer service was awesome and the pizza was so good!!My husband is a bbq chicken pizza connoisseur & he loved it! It was loaded too, every piece had plenty of chicken & onions. The pepperoni was perfect, not too greasy, not too thin, good amount of sauce, flavor, even the crust, I added some crushed red pepper to mine. We were really satisfied and hope to dine in soon!

Good pizza, wings, cheese covered garlic knots. We ordered out here last Friday after arriving in town. The estimated deliver was 1.5-2 hours,But we got it much sooner than expected. The driver forgot the cheese garlic knots apologizing he had taken so long and forgotten. He explained he was the only driver and would be back ASAP with the knots. A lot of other places would have just said sorry, we'll reimburse you, so I appreciate his effort given he had so many deliveries. We had a large group with varying pizza preferences we were trying to please and everyone was happy. The leftovers even heated up well. Will definitely order from here again next time I'm in the area

Rude service! No one greeted us. We tired walking further in then they decided to walk towards us and wanted us to go back to the entrance and wait to be seated! he started saying how they were busy but the place isn't packed and he and another server are just standing there talking and laughing.Very unwelcoming place

Tried it once before and had a good experience. Unfortunately, our 2-9-23 purchase did not make the grade or worth the cost. We had purchased two large pizzas. One was supposed to be a pesto chicken but ended up being on off the menu grilled chicken breast and they were very stingy with the chicken. This time they did not open the box to show us if it was good to go. Stupid me allowed my first positive visit to not even think of checking. Our Joeys favorite pizza also had a scarcity of veggies. I ended up paying for overpriced bland flatbread. Shame on me. AZ Pizza Co. would of been a better choice and I hate to say it but maybe even Barros. Only advice I can give is to follow the crowds.

Review is for the service, not the food. We were just in and approached the booth to be seated. Nobody was willing to acknowledge us or even say "please wait, we'll be right with you". We made eye contact with multiple servers and even held out hope that one would help us but instead she turned the other direction without any form of hello or I'll be with you shortly. We left for the other place across the street and were greeted and seated promptly. It doesn't matter how good your food is if you leave guests feeling like an imposition.

I went to NYPD before and it was so delicious. New York Style Cheese pizza is my favorite!

This place has some very yummy pizza!! The decor reminded me when I would visit the east coast for the summer. The crispy zucchini was cooked to perfection, the lemoncillo cake with meringue topping was "ooooooh so yummo "and the pizza was amazing! The pizza was even with the crust , sauce and cheese! Not like some others where it's mainly crust, barely any sauce with a sprinkle of cheese for toppings. I can't wait to go back again, this pizza was worth a visit!!

Food is good. Fiance claimed best fries he's had in a while. Service was eh, it was lunch and not busy. Got our food before drinks and server had to "find" ketchup, and it took a while. This is not the location we typically go to, but we would definitely recommend to others to try.

For some reason, I was expecting a more takeout pizza shop. NYPD Pizza is a full service sit down restaurant. (Being a pizza place, there is still a takeout line.) Dining room is a fairly decent size. Decor is Italian New York. Red walls could meke the space feel small, but large mirrors and high ceilings keep the space feeling open. Texture on the walls adds to the old world feel. I love the vintage looking tiles on the floor. Mini framed Broadway musical posters are little touches of NYC. Menu has pizzas, appetizers, salads, wings, pastas and calzones. Pizzas are made with New York water. We ordered a Joey's Favorite Pizza and the SOHO Salad Pizza. Joey's is their classic vegetarian pizza. My children said they were VERY hungry. Rather than classic NY style, we went with the Sicilian style pizza. This pizza is thick and rectangular. We ordered it extra crispy as recommended. Crisp bottom and fluffy center were an enjoyable textural contrast. Plenty of toppings on the pizza. Sauce is well flavored. FYI, this pizza does take much longer to cook. Thankfully the SOHO Pizza Salad was out sooner. Salad was fresh. All the toppings worked well together. Pizza underneath was not crisp as described. Pizza was more chewy. It probably absorbed moisture from the salad. Still an enjoyable pizza/salad. I would be torn as to ordering the Sicilian style pizza again or trying one of their NY style pizzas. A large Sicilian style pizza and pizza salad was more than enough for all of us. We left with leftovers.Service was friendly. Our server checked on us several times during our visit. He did apologize for the wait. Someone else, maybe a manager came around asking people if they were doing alright.

Pizza was good. Wings were NOT edible. They were undercooked. Had to throw them away.
