The AZ Fry Guy Soul Food

My first time having waffles and chicken. I got lucky! What an exquisite and delicate blend of two completely different food genres. Waffles were cooked to perfection as well as the chicken. Nothing was overpowering and I didn't leave feeling glutinous. The chief is the owner and you could taste the love in his food. As you know love has zero calories! Enjoy.

I should've written this review along time ago. I've come to AZ Fry guy several times over the last few months and every time I have been there the food has been consistently delicious, the service has been exceptional and the owner/cook, Greg, is a very friendly and hospitable guy. I had my first ever chicken and waffles at this place and I'm so glad that I did because I tried chicken and waffles at a so-called famous place in the downtown Phoenix area and after having AZ fry guys chicken and waffles I was already spoiled and didn't know it. His chicken strips are consistently crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the seasoning used in the breading is delicious. His sides are really good including collard greens which is something I don't usually eat, but his are delicious. My favorite side is his green beans which are the closest thing I've ever had to what my great grandmother used to make in the 70s. Tati is a wonderful server with a great attitude. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. His rib specials are amazing! My only concern regarding this restaurant is it's location. Not very visible, it's easy to miss and hard to get into and out of the parking lot.

The food and service here is beyond great!!! Have tried a good chunk of the menu and not disappointed at all. Definitely suggest trying the pork chop and smothered tri tip 🙌

Being from South Florida I had to hit this place up. A lot of culture in South FL, so with that a lot of great food. This place did not disappoint. My wife is Mexican and had never tried soul food and she LOVED it. Super friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. Also LOVE the music! I ordered the 3 piece chicken and waffles and my wife ordered the 2 piece Catfish with Mac and cheese and Potato Salad. Chicken and waffles were cooked perfect. Loved the spice and seasoning on the chicken. Waffle was excellent. My wife really enjoyed the catfish and the Mac and cheese. Potato Salad was good was expecting a little better but still good. For dessert we had the Peach Cobbler and that was delicious. Little too much cinnamon for my liking but that's just an opinion. We will definitely make this a regular place to sit and dine. The food is good, but you never know if they will be open. They do not follow posted hours - we have had this happen to us on 3 separate occasions. Sorry AZ Fry Guy. If you want to make it, you will have to improve and follow professional business etiquette.

Went here for lunch and ordered their specials: Shrimp & Grits and Chickens & Waffle. Also ordered Chicken Tenders with a Corn Muffin and Greens. Good thing the food was great except not too crazy about the corn muffin. I especially liked the shrimp and chicken. Friendly service. Will go back to try something else.

Good food and service with a smile. Spacious location. Clean atmosphere. Has a bar with a few options while you wait for you order.

I love the chicken and waffles. It's not my first visit, and won't be my last. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Definitely recommend! Went last week. The music was awesome! Every song that came on I loved and actually knew! That's a big deal when you're coming from Tucson where the music isn't your cup of tea. Portion size: huge! The staff was great and friendly. (I can't remember the name of the two young ladies. It was Saturday around 6 if that makes a difference.) Will go back whenever I go back up north! 👍
