This place has gone to crap since Covid. Food quality has gone down. Staff can be rude or not know answers. Don’t bother making reservations online, they won’t honor them just like they did to us on Father’s Day.

Came in for breakfast waited about 30mins which was fine. When the food came out the eggs and steak was semi cold warm. I asked for it to be remade the waiter stated they will reheat in the microwave. I stated I don’t do microwave food. She stated they will put it back on the grill to recook. I said you mean the grill you use to cook everyone’s food on, she said we do this all the time. I said I’m not okay with that. She said she will be right back. The guy that served our food came back and said what’s going on with attitude. My husband said sir my wife food is cold he said well it was sitting to be pulled, but what do you want me to do about. I said we would like for you to remake it. He said I can’t afford to do that. I said the food wasn’t hot he said what I am to do with it “eat it myself” we asked for our receipt advices him I was not paying for my food but I will pay for my husband’s since he ate his. To avoid the extra this drama he was trying to cause.
My husband couldn’t let go the way the man was talking to me so he did address him again but what man wouldn’t. To feel like we didn’t matter was the wrong thing to do. They need to get rid of that racist man. If you are biracial and interracial couples stay away from this restaurant.
The old guy was extremely rude and disrespectful to me and would not encourage people to eat at a place that reheats food in the microwave or grill.

I forgot to take pictures of my food, but I am going to tell you that you should come eat here! It is the best breakfast spot on the west side. I’ve been looking for a spot to eat breakfast. I am a picky eater especially when it comes to breakfast. My wife loves that barrel of crackers place so whenever I ever get a chance to choose where we eat this is the spot! I come here when I’m craving eggs, I’ve had the country fried steak , the shredded beef green chili omelette, which was absolutely amazing. I’ve also had their cinnamon rolls. Everything is just good. I suggest you come here it is my favorite spot to eat, you will not be disappointed

If you can appreciate an old small town diner restaurant, this is a good place to come. The staff members are nice and friendly. The restaurant is family owned which is neat in my opinion. The building is original which makes it a staple in the city of Old Town Avondale. If you can appreciate a place that will give you a lot of food, you won't ever be disappointed.

I can't say enough about how awesome this place is. Maria thank you for the welcome and outstanding service. We loved the service you had given us. As I watched you service everyone you demonstrated outstanding kindness in your service. This small restaurant packs a punch with great food. All that we ordered tasted great. Cinnamon Roll you have to taste (order warm) serves 2-3 people. There's no shortness of food served here. You will definitely walk out full. This is a MUST if your ever in the area. Thank you for making the morning great! I wish I could give you more than 5 stars but; it's all they offer.

I have never experienced racism this up close and personal. My sons and I arrived at this restaurant before the rest of our party. We were having our companies Christmas breakfast there. The restaurant was nearly empty. I asked the host if a reservation was held she replied no and I gave her the number of people in our party. She was not happy with having to move tables and chairs around for 10 people. Our full party arrived. This person was our waitress as well. I asked if there was an option of protein other than pork she replied no. I order my boys and my breakfast with no meat… when the breakfast came out it all had pork on the plates. We sent the food back. It came back with pork, we sent the food back again, it came back with pork. I sent my food back 3x’s. I asked to speak with the manager. In front of us, the manager blamed the waitress, the waitress blamed the kitchen. No resolve, Then owner came out and came over to me and said you will have to leave. If you are not eating my food, you can’t sit here and have your party, get out and take it down the road. The man and woman sitting in another booth started applauding him for putting us out. He said I don’t care about your kids watching you get out of business now. It was beyond disbelief. It was sickening to my stomach. The coffee pots looked like they had never been washed, the bathroom had black mole in the ceiling. I’ll wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemy. Shame on this owner for being prejudice in 2024

My friends and I had a very unfortunate experience there. It initially started out with the server having a poor attitude about needing to arrange tables for a group of 10. Once we were all sat, the server proceeded to take our orders, she was rushing everyone, arguing about specifics people wanted for their orders, was not really open to substitutions and just seemed not interested in serving our table. We had a few people who had food accommodations needing to be met (no pork- this will be of importance later) not too long after, the food started to come out, our server was calling out plates but no one was claiming them because there was either something wrong or missing from the orders, it was all a very confusing couple of minutes. As a server, you should have somewhat of an idea as to who ordered what and where it goes. Next, the "no pork" individuals received their plates with BACON. Multiple people at our table were missing food items, plates were wrong and taken back to the kitchen 3+ times. We finally asked for a manager, manager proceeded to chat with the table and then started blaming the server for her attitude (which, she did have a bad attitude) The worker and manager started arguing back and forth in front of our table, which was completely unprofessional. 5 of our plates were taken back to the kitchen, as people were no longer willing to eat their food (rightfully so) BUT THEN, the owner came out and began to yell at our table. He told us all to leave because he wasn't going to allow people to sit at his tables for free after sending our food back. He voiced his annoyance at the "no pork" eaters and proceeded to bully, harass and embarrass our whole group. We are shocked, saddened and disgusted by the treatment we received today. We will never been returning to this establishment, nor will we be recommending this place to anyone. ADDING more info I recently discovered, apparently the owners staff don't even feel comfortable working at this place. The owner sets up cameras to watch the staff and intimidate them. Doesn't seem like a pleasant place to work or eat at, the owner is also petty enough to reply to peoples reviews and argue back, as opposed to taking accountability for the poor business he runs.

Food was cold and bland not an ounce of seasoning. Server messed up order multiple times continuing to bring out bacon when told they don’t eat bacon and had an attitude she blamed the kitchen then the manager came out and apologized about her attitude and she came out to argue with the manager infront of everybody. The cook then came out and kicked everybody. The atmosphere was very outdated and tacky.
