Astoria International Bistro

What’s not to love? The food was fabulous. Starter salad with a light vinaigrette dressing. Focaccia bread was airy and fresh, with pesto. Waffle fries slightly crispy on the outside and a salmon wrap with the salmon light and cooked to perfection. I don’t know why the place wasn’t packed!

We stopped here by chance of pure luck and we are so glad that we did. Svetlana was so personable and shared some of her story with us. As east coasters, we were appreciative of the diverse food options which we did not find anywhere else on our trip to Arizona. The food was delicious!! The atmosphere reminded us of our time in Europe. The service was prompt and attentive. If we are ever in Arizona again, we will 100% make sure to stop in again! Thank you Svetlana!!!

We drove 80 miles from Carefree looking for a new restaurant experience. Astoria did not disappoint. The Chicken Kiev and Schnitzel were excellent! Everything is made from scratch. Love the red cabbage. The homemade chocolate cake is killer! Svetlana is a charming hostess. Well worth the drive.

We finally got to try this place. It’s nice. Victoria really helped us figure out how to order since we’re not “world travelers“ :-)… And we have a special diet restrictions… Overall we had a really good experience… They’re going to have live music tonight that’s like Tony Bennett style it’s definitely a feel special or date night etc…kind of place :-) Or if you want to have a meeting with somebody and get to know them, someone you just met for example… This would be a good place. Theres hardly any places like this in Camp Verde. It is a little fancy and it is a little expensive but we’re tired of the same thing around here and it worked :-) so I’d give it a try if you’re on the fence about it and just sort of look at the menu and see what fits what you ….like… For example, my brother got a hamburger that came with a side that didn’t work on keto so they let us sub it for a side salad at no extra charge and his meal was about the same price as going anywhere in Camp Verde for a burger with a side included ($17-18)but much cleaner, healthier, and better tasting! But don’t look at the website menu. Look at the Google menu to see the variety because they added a lot more items that are comparable with local prices in some places even less than local prices. Don’t let the bistro name discourage… usually bistro means tiny portions, but this isn’t the case at this place. ….oh I forgot to add to expect to wait 15-20 for your main entree bc the food is fresh made after your order… i assume an appetizer would not take long to arrive though bc we ate the salads while we waited for main dish to arrive.

Do not underestimate this restaurant! Fantastic food, great atmosphere ( you can hear each other talk) wonderful service and very affordable for fine dining. The location is easy to access, plenty of parking and large dining area perfect for large or small groups. Astoria is a MUST!

We selected this restaurant based on reviews and menu items. We had the cheese board, potato-cheese pirogies, and bruschetta (ricotta, dates, pistachio and tomato, mozzarella and basil). Everything was delicious! The pirogies were like my grandmother used to make…perfect. The server was very polite, friendly, and outgoing. She kept our glasses full, checked on us appropriately, and gave excellent advice on the menu. There were several tables occupied by locals and travelers as well. The restaurant was easy to find in a plaza off the main road in Camp Verde. Highly recommended!

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Svetlana is an incredible human being, who truly cares about her customers and her husband is an absolutely incredible chef. This restaurant deserves to be on everyone’s bucket list traveling through northern Arizona. I can’t emphasize how good the food and the vibes were. 10/10.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is exquisite, with truly something for everyone. The produce is fresh, and the bread baked in house. Old world at its best

Traveling from California and just stopped for a bite real quick. The food was amazing our server was Russian so we had a vodka and enjoyed the best lunch of our entire 10 day Arizona trip!!!

My hubby and I had a very nice dinner tonight. Great food, nice wine and a wonderful host, Lana!

I have only worked here for barely a month, but Svetlana is not a fair employer, I wasn’t informed till after I worked a 44 hour “trial week” that I wasn’t going to be paid for all of it, only some. I have had to ask repeatedly day after day for my payments or some clarification on how the payroll works because the money I would receive was never the full amount of the hours I had worked. I have been in the restaurant industry for 9 years, anyone who actually knows me knows I am an amazing cook, and have even had my own recipes put on menus, where my name was known. I am too hard a worker to be mistreated or screwed over financially, especially being 5 months pregnant. Svetlana was rude to me when I went in to tell her I needed my last paycheck and went as far as to say “they gave me a chance to be nice, but I have no cooking experience, I’ve probably only defrosted food and put it in the microwave” She can say whatever negative and untrue statements she would like to, but I know my worth, abilities, experience and knowledge have far outweighed anything she could say, or believe, not communicating or being fair with payments will never get your business far. If I still do not receive my last payments I will be taking legal action, I am NOT the only person they have screwed over. Don’t work here.

We stopped by for late lunch as we passed through town. What a delightful surprise! The food was delicious. Fresh hot homemade bread with pesto to dip in prior to food. A beautiful fresh salad came with lunch and a good portion as well. The falafel wrap and fantastic seasoned fries were so good. The fresh mozzarella, tomato with basil sandwich was huge. Our server was delightful and attentive. We ate on the patio with my little dog. Absolutely recommend this little treasure and can't wait to go back!

We stopped in for lunch and were absolutely impressed with the freshly made food and the awesome service and attention we got from the owner!!
After we were done we had business to do in the area and had to tell our customer about the great restaurant we just had lunch at the Astoria International and come to find out … they are regular customers at Astoria !
We will be back very soon with our friends!!

Stopped here for a quick lunch and was not expecting such an amazing experience! From the food being absolutely delicious to the owners being so kind and humble. I definitely will be coming back to try more things on their menu!
