What is the point of having reservations. We had 5 people @ 7pm. Didn't get seated until 7:30-7:40 then sat at a table for over an HOUR waiting for a chef. At 8:45 finally complained only to have the waitress LAUGH in my husbands face, his response was why an are you laughing- this is not funny. FINNALY got a chef Ben, very nice!! Got out at 10pm. If you don't have enough staff- don't take so many reservations or walking

the food and service was great but they didn't really honor a reservation we ended up waiting another 30 minutes after arriving on time for our reservation

Everything was really great. It's quite an experience. Two negatives are - we had a reservation but still had to wait 35 minutes. The place was packed. So with two 12 year -olds we were there for three hours! The chef was very good and entertaining. The food was excellent. The other server was good, but probably could've cleared more glasses and the dessert (ice cream) took a long time and by hour three , we were done!

We always enjoy the food, service and experience. Very loud. Haven't been for a few years and price has increased considerably.

Opentable Diner

It was OK, service by waitress made it great. Food was meh and tasteless considering it is $50+ per person.

I just celebrated my 21st birthday at Benihana in Chandler, and it was absolutely perfect! My fiancé and I hadn't had a date night in a while, and they truly went above and beyond to make it special for us. From the moment we walked in, the staff was so warm and welcoming. The chef put on such a fun show while cooking right in front of us, and the food was delicious. They even helped make my birthday feel extra memorable with special touches that made me feel celebrated. It was the perfect way to spend my 21st and such a great experience for us as a couple. Thank you, Benihana Chandler, for making our night unforgettable—we'll definitely be back!

Our Teppan chef was great, food was wonderful. The manager and staff worked quickly to resolve a brief issue with the cooktop, we greatly appreciate their efforts, especially with how busy it was that evening. Thank you!

We were a party of 6 so we made sure to have reservations. We had reservations for 6:30, and arrived at 6:15. After 45 minute wait I asked the host when we would be seated. He mumbled that all the tables were occupied. I said "So it really doesn't matter if we made a reservation?" He replied that people who did not have reservations had to wait an hour or more. Well, we were finally taken to our table at 7:30. Yes an hour after our reservation. Again what is the point of making a reservation? The waitress came and asked for drinks orders and appetizers to be served prior to the chef arriving. The chef arrived at 8:00, not so much for our drinks. The waitress after being flagged down said there was a huge rush at the bar but my wine was being poured. 8:15, the chef arrived and still no drinks. When we ordered, they were out of milk for the kids. We ate our dinner at 8:30, two hours after our reservation. The staff was overwhelmed and the "wagyu" beef was gristle laden. We took the kids thinking that it would be fun for them to see chef make the dinner in front of them. They were so tired by the time we got dinner they were not impressed. And there was so much smoke from the various griddles, that all our eyes were red. Run away and never visit this restaurant.

It's always a treat to visit Benihana! We can't wait to return when it cools off outside in Chandler

We we were not seated until 850p even though our reservation was at 815p. We received notice at 8p that our table was ready so we tried to check in for our reservation in a little early. The lobby was filled with people waiting. Granted it was a Friday night. The host said they were still working on seating those who had been there since 7p. What is purpose of having a reservation if thise reservations are not honored? I dont know the walk in policy either but the restaurant was full minus the tables in the bar. The 6 of us were then squeezed into a teppanyaki table with 3 other people. Is that normal for a table? Nine was too many people and we had zero arm room, kept bumping into each other, no room for plates and glasses. The food was expensive and only mediocre (we even had the WAGYU) for the price and experience. Our drinks didnt come until our dinner started (after we ordered and ate an appetizer, our soup and finally the salad.) We then waited almost 30+ minutes to even start receiving our food. Our server was EXTREMELY overworked and did her best to to accommodate multiple tables but it was clear the restaurant was not staffed properly this evening. This was no fault of her own as she did the best woth what she had to do. We have been there before several years ago. The experience was completely different and the food was amazing. The one highlight to our evening was the our chef. He was interactive and funny. We enjoyed his jokes and show. Overall not a good experience. We work in Healthcare where shofts are long (12 hours) meals and breaks are infrequent. We arrived hungry and tired and ready to eat. We ended up leaving the restaurant at almost 11pm. Our schedules pose a challenge as well so when all of us could meet for what was supposed to have been a treat and a celebratory meal, it was disheartening that things transpired as they did. May not return all things considered.

Celebrated my wife's birthday and my mother in law being cancer free on the same day it was special until our evening was ruined by a server who told my wife she world be cut off after she only drank one drink. We were caught off guard since our reservation started at 8 we ordered a drink at the bar while we waited for our table she finished her drink around nine ten she knows because she went to speak with the manager jasmine and explain how offended she was, my wife then later left her own birthday dinner because it was uncomfortable to be called a drunk by the server when you were having a casual celebratory drink on your birthday and your mother being cancer free.

We've been a couple times this past year and each time its been a bumpy experience. The biggest one being it takes 45min for soup or salads to be brought out. Every time. You have to flag down a server for drink refills because they dont ask. I had to ask for my rice 3 different times on this last trip. I even asked for the rice with my dessert and he brought the check instead.

The chef was one of the best we have had at benihana. Very friend had a great laugh but most importantly the food was perfection. It was busy and the people at our table were not really into the show, but the Benihana staff people were great.

The ambiance is nice, the servers are excellent and our chef was entertaining. The food quality was not the best and knowing the difference between adult portions and children portions seems to be a challenge.
