Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

Every time I eat here it’s a disappointment, I pay for extra meat and I literally get 2 bites worth it’s crazy that’s not even the regular amount it’s less. I pay for extra meat and get the opposite.

I ordered Uber eats and I was in the exact same parking lot as the restaurant getting my hair done. When they delivered the food there was no silverware. (It was a bowl so I couldn’t just pick anything up to eat it) I talked the manager hoping to get a good solve and she admitted it was their error so said she would have someone walk across the parking lot to hand me them. I thought that was so awesome and would have left a 5 star. Then I waited 15 min and no one came. I called them back and their corporate office would not patch me back to talk to her. They hung up on me and now $20 and 1 hour later I am still just as hungry. Would have given 1 star but the manager clearly cared.

Very dirty!! Rice was under cooked
I had 1 chicken taco rice no beans small drink 15.00 . Taco was mostly lettuce and Pico, not much chicken. Will never go back!!!!

Came back to eat ant cafe rio after so many years and I regret so bad. Dirty, smelly salty food. I won’t go back

Took friends to this location last night for Taco Tuesday. All tables were dirty so used my hand sanitizer and squirted it all over to wipe down table. When we got drinks, the counter was filthy and sticky. I didn't even want to set my cup down. I felt like I was at a dirty Circle K. And no, they weren't busy. When we left, I approached the counter to let a young man know. I greatly dislike walking into a self-serve restaurant to be greeted by dirty tables. I generally don't return. The location on Chandler Blvd and 101 is busier and never this dirty. We'll take our business there.

Disappointing. The lettuce was rotting, the Pico smelled bad, they threw a whole cilantro on the food with stems and all (might as well throw in the roots for good measure) the packaging was super sloppy, they should've just thrown my food in a blender and served it in a cup covered inside these plates. I paid alot for this crap and this is the closest location to where we live. I get that the economy affects food prices and costs go up, but really??? Do consumers have to suffer when ordering takeout. If this is what's coming in future from this restaurant, it's better to just dine at home. This isn't the first time I've tried Cafe Rio. Why should there be a difference in food quality whether you dine-in or take-out. The food gave my kid a stomach ache and me a headache posting this. I would not recommend this place. Not sure if in person ordering is any better either.

It was my first time visiting Cafe Rio. It was very good I enjoyed the nachos it very much

The food was not dried out and not fresh, however they were still serving it in that condition. We had to ask for new staples to be brought out. The new staples rice and beans were still not well prepared. Rice grains were crunchy throughout the rice , not sure if it’s because the worker dumped the old rice in with the new… will not go to this location on S Gilbert and Ocotillo again. The portion size for their new bowls was also very disappointing. There’s probably only like a 1/2c maybe of rice

This Cafe Rio was awful! The restaurant was nearly empty. The staff was rude and apathetic. We had to repeat or orders numerous times and when they spoke, they mumbled and were barely audible. The guacamole looked old and awful. We asked politely if we could have newer guacamole and the staff said “no!” Then when we went to talk with the manager, the entire staff saw us at the counter and blatantly ignored us, except for one person who was helping a customer. This location on Gilbert Road has steadily declined and I will not return and will share my experience any chance I can. Shame on the staff and manager.

Chicken tacos are always good

Really not a great Cafe Rio, I’ve been to many but this one is a dud. Dirty store, food line is always gross with old containers and dried food, poorly trained staff that always seems like half of them are on break. Food never tastes quite as good.

Ordered 4 different entrees online but none of them came out correctly. Plus the rice was uncooked

Everything looked like it had sat out for a long time.

Food came quickly with very generous portions
